Just heating the card is a temporary fix, you can replace it with a different card though, like GTX 765M, 770M, 780M and even Radeon WX4170 and WX7100 (basically RX 560 and RX 580) and now there's a VBIOS/BootROM mod that gives EFI bootscreen also you get Metal support for Mojave too. That microphone cable though lmao, on my 2010 27" I plugged the microphone into the ODD fan so I had to take it back apart when the microphone didn't work. Also I think putting paste on the VRAM chips isn't gonna do shit, I bought some 0.5mm thermal pads for mine and they were way too thin.

I replaced that gpu in the same imac, still the same problem (reboot loop, never fully boots up). I tried swapping a different hard drive (new) and still have the problem. I hate to shotgun units, but I may change the power supply because I hear these have issues with them. By the way, just buy a toilet plunger from the 99 cent store; works great!

Sorry to hear you struggle like that, well Ive messed up an iMac this spring and i had to swap MB, ive failed so many times my memory is preventing me from accessing those moments. Will try the plunger next time.. great idea. :)

Hi wonder if u could help my imac 27 was running I know there a gpu fault not used machine I couple of years pram battery died have replaced that but not getting any of the 4 legs on logic board like no power could power supply gone bad ?

Hello ! Nice video ! I have maybe the same problem ! I have one beep every 2 seconde and black screen ! My ram is new, i have change the thermal paste to the gpu and cpu ! You think the hotgun on the gpu is a solution ?

Weird! Weird problem I’m having. half of the LCD screen boots up with vertical lines and gibberish until an hour later when the screen gets really hot then the screen works fine. 27 inch iMac 2010. do you know what cause this problem and fix? I uhave baked the graphics card and repasted to the heat sink.

Well.. i would try to bake it again at higher temperature, if that doesnt work its toast.

i buy it only for second hand but it almost 2mos use..

Scusate bel video, ho un problema simile, non so chi votare alle europee 😅. No scherzo... volevo dire il mac è morto dopo acceso l'ho spento e non si è più ripreso. I led interni ora quando attacco la corrente sono spenti è acceso solo l'ultimo da sinistra e per un istante poi si spegne. Se tolgo la scheda video sempre uguale non cambia. Ho cambiato power supply niente. Sempre uguale. Non so più cosa fare! Grazie a chiunque potrà aiutarmi
