IL 2 Great Battles || JU-87 Stuka Career || Part 2

Ойындар

Welcome to IL 2 Battle of Stalingrad and the career of Stuka pilot Eberhard Tasch.
It's August 24, 1942 and we are flying the third and final wave of the day. It's a nervous feeling going up this time. We snuck up on the Russians the first time, but I'm not sure we'll be so lucky this time.

    It's called a side slip when one turns the aircraft nose to the left or right of the path of travel and putting the fuselage into the slip stream, it slows the plane down. Nice vid.

    The US gave the USSR, P-40, A-20. PBY, And some B-25 and _-P-38 aircraft. Brits gave some Spits too along with Hurrocanes.

    That's interesting the US would give their strategic bombers away. Surely without the bomb sights

    @@Stoopid_Dumie A-20 and B-25 were not strategic bombers. They were "medium" bombers but employed more as a heavy attack aircraft that could penetrate deep into German territory by the Russians. Low alt, high speed pin point bombing or going in guns blazing for strafing. Strategic bombers were Lancaster, Wellington, B-17/24/29. The big boys that sat waaaaaaay up high that needed help hitting targets 5 miles bellow.

    You mentioned allied help to the Soviet Union. The US gave various fighters to the soviets, including the P -39, which would shot down more enemy aircraft in the European theatre of war than any other US fighter, including the far more famous ones. Boots, radios, trucks and locomotives made in the US were instrumental in the soviet victory, and they were never publicly acknowledged.

    Very interesting! I've only ever heard the Lend Lease brought up regarding Britain and smaller European countries. Definitely something that wasn't taught in schools around here

    If your gonna use a dive bomber you should know alittle but about dive bomber tactics and strategy. You might find factual history much interesting then history channel video game nonsence. Much of WWII history is from a bias view and only mentions political battles. the Battle of the bulge was just one tiny fight and not the most crutical battle, more political. The battle of Hurtgen forest was the largest loss of US life in the entire war. Historys mainstream bullshyt doesn't mention that.

    Battle of the Bulge wasn't "more political" it was a fairly critical. That showed what not having logistics or aircover does to stall an advance into enemy territory with a decent loss of life. Hurtgen forest was that but much larger scale
