Jerry, That approach never gets old. As a fairly new Instrument student, thanks for letting me "ride a long".

Lovely to see that old KNS-80 still doing its stuff. We were using that well before any GPS gear came out, and were still happy with it when some of us bought early Garmin handhelds - and even later!

Hey Jerry. I currently subscribe to 15+ pilots and follow each of their post. Just wanted to say that your channel is by far the mostly enjoyable to watch. Although I flew singles in my early days had to quite based on health but really enjoy watching your many trips and great video.

Great job as always Jerry. When you attached the power stick, the audio was much better. I could actually hear com with ATC. Without that external power, when you keyed the mic, the volume was reduced a lot

Great to see the ILS top to bottom-- how long have you been landing the 28 to 33 switcharoo? Makes me pucker every time!

18Kbeck, thx 4 all the UT work this week. I for 1 am hungry for the return from Medford vid. Another request, can you explain (on a future video is fine with me) what the "back course ILS" on your way to Medford is. Why & How if U would. Enjoy your work. Fun to ride along.

Great video. Not sure what you did with the Power pack but it sure improved my audio. I love that approach to 33. I wish there was some way we could get a better instrument shot when you do your approaches. Maybe insert an instrument view???

I'm working on my instrument rating, really enjoy watching you these videos where you shoot an approach in weather. I do have a question, I never hear or see an indicator light for the outer marker or middle marker, do you have marker beacons? Looking forward to your next video.

Yes I do, you might not hear them in the audio when using the Nightflight ICOM setup, I will have to check that out on my next flight

How about asking the guys over at FLYERS if you can borrow their new Citation M2 jet for your next jog to Oakland...and be sure to video it, OK?

Jerry, you should have told tower to have the Phenom pilot look at your KZread channel! That was actually interesting. I was wondering how the controller was going to respond when you asked for 33. Single versus Twin. The comedian Ron White had a line in one of his acts about getting on a small commuter flight, and having an engine issue and they needed to turn back. His comment to the seat next to him asking if they were going to make it on one engine was to the effect of 'All the way to the site of the crash!' Unfortunately, for some twin engine pilots, that's all too true. Now, I don't have a multi-rating, and I'm not anywhere near current on anything, but I do know that if you're at altitude, don't have terrain above your single engine service ceiling, and don't have any problems with the second engine, there is no reason you can't make the airport, even in IFR conditions. BUT, you have to train for it, just like that back course. You don't do it often, you forget the details, things don't go well. That's what training is for. Of course, the best training is when you're sitting bolted to the ground in a simulator, where you can practice. So, my reply to Single versus Twin is this. If you practice regularly and your skills are sharp, the twin will get you home, or at least give you options. However, if you haven't trained in a while, you're better off in a single, since you KNOW you're going to go down, and you can fly the airplane to the ground. However, it's better to be trained in a twin! As to the eclipse, I think you did a great job. You did the best you could with the gear and the knowledge you had, and I still like your stills from the D200!

Jerry, I was wondering why you don't land 28R but continue low approach to 33. I am not a licensed pilot but that seems like an unorthodox approach. I could see why the Phenom questioned your intentions. You seem to prefer 33 because I guess it brings you closer to your hanger. Just curiosity on my part.

when you pull back the mixtures to cutoff the engines are suppose to shut down right away, you do that instead of turning off the magnetos because if you turn off the magnetos there is still raw fuel left in the cylinders and the danger of moving the prop can cause a mag to spark and ignite the raw fuel and turn the prop, if you in the way of the prop GAME OVER.......

In an earlier video, you mentioned that your GoPro ceiling mount didn't work out well. I mount my inside GoPro with their double sided sticky mount on the ceiling, stuck to the plastic center piece (not sure what its called) on 172's and 182's. It works great and it's one of my favorite angles. Not sure what mounting areas there might be on your plane though. Example video of mine: vimeo.com/45122058 Mounts: shop.gopro.com/mounts/curved-plus-flat-adhesive-mounts/AACFT-001.html Where I mount (not me in the photo): i.ytimg.com/vi/TZ9xixK5sgA/maxresdefault.jpg

Hey Allen Smith, did you hear that installed, that GFC600 is about $20,000?!? I probably would be a lot less money for Jerry to overhaul his current autopilot. Genesys Aerosystems has the S-Tec 3100 which is sub-$20,000, Tru-Trak as their Vizion system, which is sub-$10,000. But, Jerry also has a pretty old airplane, and finding a STC for the 320 might be kind of hard.

with calm wind at an uncontrolled airport you can take off on any runway, usually you use what everyone else is using unless it's not busy
