‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣ THIS EPISODE ‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣
Our Terrific Teton Tour continues this week with our last day exploring around Grand Teton National Park. No trip to the Tetons is complete without a #sunriseanddonuts, so we got everyone up early (even Marissa from Less Junk, More Journey, who still doesn’t fully trust us for sunrises!) to head to Schwabacher Landing to watch the rising sun light up the jagged peaks of the mountain range.
One tip for visiting this spot - keep walking past the crowds of photographers and visitors a little further down the trail to some quieter areas with stunning reflection views!
Thankfully the fog cleared, and our coffee was nice and hot to keep us warm as it was only 32 degrees when we arrived! Tip number 2 for visiting the Tetons in the spring or fall is to wear lots of layers. It can be freezing (literally!) in the morning and then be nice and warm by noon time!
Our second stop was to head out to Mormon Row and finally partake of our donuts by the T.A. Moulton Barn! All the dads had gone and chosen donuts for everyone to share, so we had quite the spread!
The history of Mormon Row is fascinating, and we never tire of going back and walking around the barns and houses (and outhouses!) still standing. For a wonderful way to learn more about the history of Grand Tetons National Park as well as other national treasures like it, be sure to check out the documentary, Ken Burns' The National Parks: America’s Best Idea. It is one of our favorites! You can check it out here: www.amazon.com/dp/B07B64T736/...
We wrapped up our morning by stopping at the Moose Visitor Center which is our favorite in the park. Our biggest tip for this stop is to make sure you watch the movie that plays throughout the day in the auditorium and be sure to stay for the surprise at the end!
Stay tuned for next week as we head to the Lippert Getaway in Idaho and go on some pretty amazing adventures! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!

    Thanks for the laugh and giving me a Tetons fix I didn't realize I needed! When I was there at the end of July (9 days!) it rained HARD every day, almost all day. I think I saw the Tetons once. You mentioning the settlers dates made me remember my Dad's stories of his family camping in Yellowstone in the 30's and 40's! They were from Cache Valley, UT (another valley where the mountain men had rondevous) and would drive up in their 1931 Ford sedan with wooden spoke wheels and an actual trunk on the back, hauling their heavy canvas tent. Grandma would cook on the fire using her cast iron pans. Thanks for the beautiful views and great photography Cory!

    When we were coming from Yellowstone the first time, we were following our GPS to get to the Gros Ventre Campground, and it took us down the road the T.A. Moulton Barn is on. We drove to the end where there was nothing before us but a grass field. We had to take our tow car off the dolly and then unhook the dolly and walk it off into the field and then jog the Motorhome back and forth to get turned around. I bet the tourist were saying, "where the heck do those people think they're going", as we passed by them. It was the first and last time I trusted the GPS on our phones. Now we have a Garmin RV 890 that works much better. Have you ever drove down a road you shouldn't have?

  • @FindingOurSomeday

    @FindingOurSomeday

    You can actually get to Gros Venture down that road , they just sometimes have a movable barrier to limit traffic. But it’s a couple miles of dirt road🫣 I don’t blame you for giving up on Google though! We use Google but always look ahead to make things are not funky. We have gone down 2 roads we shouldn’t have both in the Tetons actually 😂 we took our trailer down down swabacher landing road , and had to some crazy maneuvering to get it turned around . Then again trying to go into the south entrance to the NP (near teton village) I had to back up like 100 yards to turn around. Both my fault however, wish I could blame GPS 🤦‍♂️ Google does some funky stuff sometimes though!

It is something to see!! A tip for the elk refuge, do research on when the bull elk shed their racks... the first time I went to see it, they had shed their racks and I was hugely disappointed. Now I know to go no later than mid Feb.

    The Moultons owed a 1 acre plot until aroubd 2018, so the original homesteaders families owed property for well over 100 years. I hauled hay off the TA Moulton ranch for my uncle in the 1970s. The land was still being used for farming and ranching by the Moulton's even then it didn't stop in the 50 s as you stated.

    We went to Grand Teton and took the boat across Jenny Lake to hike up to Inspiration Point. You know how when you get up there, there’s some rocks sticking out that make for nice photo ops of Jenny Lake? People were all taking turns taking their photos and these two ladies went out on the rock and just sat down to eat their lunch!! We laughed at them when those ground squirrels stole their food and startled the ladies! But did they move at that point? No, they had no clue that any other people were waiting for them to move to take a picture.

    Great video. Just wondering when this was filmed? Y’all are in shorts and tank tops. I’m in south Mississippi and it’s in the 30s here!

    Your friends with no solar panels.... what was their boondocking set up like? Bigger batteries + generator?

    Good question! They have 420 AH of lion energy lithium(same as us) . They also have a 3k Victron inverter. Then an onboard generator that they ran a couple hrs a day to recharge. They will be adding solar further down the road.

    @@FindingOurSomeday thanks for the like 👍 what Sony did Nathen get ? They are all so close but Sony is way smaller in body size ! I’m to deep into canon or I’d. have Sony in a heart beat. The church where I attend love Sony but I got them using a c70 and there Sony a7siii for Vidieo. Stay safe , have fun and I always love your Video’s.
