Here is a short video from day 41 of Rob's Iceman moves ever closer to completion. Today I used some very common rubbing and polishing compounds as well as the final wax. As I mention in the video a few times, I was hoping the new polisher would have arrived earlier, it did arrive 45 minutes after I had shut down for the day, due to the heat.
I did manage to get the body finished up, while the next provided me with a new headache, as when the tape was removed, it did 2 problems..1 - leaving an overly thick paint line at the fretboard edge & 2 - chipping of the paint when the tape was pulled off of the fretboard. While I tried a few off-camera repair ideas, none worked out, so I sanded the problem areas flat and in some cases exposing the wood. This will all be re-sanded once again and then prepped for a very light coat of primer and then paint, or remove all of the paint completely and use a black wood stain that would end up with a clear over that. Either way, the neck has to be re-finished, one way or another.
