IceCon, Preds & Jason Allison - EPISODE 489

Спорт

On Episode 489 of Spittin’ Chiclets, the guys are joined by Jason Allison (01:04:15) to talk about his hockey career, his time with the Boston Bruins, and life post career. But first, the guys recap a wild weekend in Chicago and Scottsdale at the insane IceCon. Later on, the boys talk about the race for the playoffs and what teams are on watch. We got some new members to the 50 goal club and Nathan MacKinnon is continuing his insane MVP caliber season. Will NCAA hockey remove neutral site regional tournament games? But in the end, another solid episode from the boys.

Biz saying that RA decided to take an aggressive approach to the divorce announcement is wild 😂 If I remember correctly it was Biz and Whit throwing around the ideas of a dating show and asking how young RA would go. Brought levity to the situation but I don’t think it was RA that took it there 🤷‍♂️

I remember meeting him twice at the old Continental Meadowlands area in NJ as a young teenager..of all the really nice nhl players I met and got autographs etc, Pavel Bure may have been nicest of them all, so patient and took the time after a game to sign etc. Great childhood memories meeting him 🤓👍🏼.

Love the show. Bs fan from Mass retired and live in Wisconsin after almost 3 decades in the military. Hockey and military service can be brutal on the body. All of us who played, served, or love what we do or did , wouldn’t change much. Please look into neuromuscular massage therapy!!! There are not a lot who special in what combines deep tissue with a focus on releasing nerves. This isn’t white robe, Biz and his rub-n-tug😅. Even my orthopedist is now looking at the benefits and I was one step away from surgery to release trapped nerves in my foot/lower leg. Look into it boys and if you have questions fire away. I couldn’t help but relate to Jason Allison when he talked about the surgery on his hand/wrist. Not saying surgery won’t be an option, but this is something I’ve had tremendous results. Cheers

Cousins didn’t answer the bell, he wanted to fight Zucker for the hit that Zucker threw on him a while back. Answering the bell would be fighting after a dirty play instead of turtling. I’m sure Zucker wanted the fight too, but it’s not the same as answering the bell for a rat play by Cousins. (Obviously Biz knows more about fighting and playing the enforcer role than I ever will, I’m just giving my view on this particular scenario)

He scorches the earth. Yes he can get a lot out of teams for a period of time - has done it over and over again. not a huge secret to how and what he does - He bag skates his team through training camp and they are in the best shape of the league. They pressure the puck all 200ft - everyone dives to block shots and by the time he has burnt the team out - there is nothing left but smoldering wreckage every time - any player with talent is so beaten to hell there is nothing left. rinse, spin, repeat.

I don’t get what is so difficult about offsides review. You don’t need to change the rule, just make it reviewable ONLY if the offsides is within 5 seconds of the goal, otherwise it’s not an odd man rush and had no real affect on the goal. Also, get rid of whistles for puck into the netting. Just play the puck! Would lead to more offense and far fewer whistles.
