I WON - 2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Champion

Спорт

Day two of the 2023 Rogue Invitational couldn't have ended better for me.
I am beyond grateful to be doing what I'm doing today and I have to thank each and every one of you watching this.
Day two kicked off with event three, the “Rogue-a-Coaster” - a 54-inch, 600-pound seated rope pull with a 90-second time cap.
The expected third and final event of Day One, the “Ultimate Log Medley” was postponed until Day Two of the competition and changed to a max log lift and the Apollon's Wheel was removed from the competition.
The fifth and final event came down to “The Duel” - a sandbag medley that favoured those who thrive in loading races. Due to inclement weather, the initial schedule of six events was chopped to five.

    What I didn’t like about the event. It appeared that Rogue cared more about CrossFit than strongman. Didn’t even show trophy ceremony after event. The deadlift in CrossFit event was brutal to watch. The bull should have been changed after watching Brian and Kevin testing. Just get a Texas truck and do it outside. I hope they completely cover Treys costs. They had all day to know it was raining. Get a tent and do all the events. The final event was too fast and impossible to follow. Usually you get one false start so I’m glad that didn’t cost you the win, especially because strongman never does events like that. As for the log, that move you did on the last lift won you the competition. If you had to split points with 5 athletes Tom won.

    ROGUE is trying to keep the falling interest in Crossfit by Combining it with Strongman. Most of the time was spent showing Crossfit. Separate the Competitions. And let Crossfit stand on its own.

    @@olderthanyoucali8512 If CrossFit is really falling then they need to get rid of events that go on and on forever, like the deadlift. I only watched because I wanted to see the strongman awards and interviews, which never was shown.

    The key to CrossFit is that it tests strength, speed, and endurance. Every event should test each. They shouldn’t have exclusive gymnastics, or strength, or marathon running. Those disciplines have their events elsewhere.

    When the events become impossible for the average person it’s a problem. So every event has to have clear variations that are not so impossible.

    Big congratulations on the win! But as a spectator I can't help but be a bit disappointed in how the Rogue Inv. went this year due to event changes because of the weather. Rogue Inv. has become one of the competition I look forward to seeing the most along with the Arnold. The events this year sounded like they could've been amazing.

    Congrats on the win.. I do realize Rogue was in a time-crunch situation. But I could not focus on that final event. That final event should had been something to try and salvage the show from mediocrity. But it just cemented it instead.

    I agree- I think out of all Major Rogue events , this one was the least fun to watch. Did not find the subbed in events interesting. Mitchell deserved to win. I think that the tower of power deadlift has run its course- found it boring this year. The bull pull had a lot of things that could be worked on. The loading race setup just was kinda blah.

  • @Holdfast-

    @Holdfast-

    @@mozzer920 I think the tower of power is a cool event but due to the "weights" being so visually disconnected from the lifter it kind of makes it visually less impressive.

If I am not mistaken you are the first strongman to ever win the BIG 3 in one calendar year. It used to be the Big 2 WSM plus AC. Simcc CDe its inception the Rogue Invitational has joined that short list and is definitely one of the elite tournaments due to the venue, the prize money, the competition, and its Rogue.) Some might even say that the Shaw Invitational should be added to that list thus making winning those 4 major strongman titles the ultimate goal for any single strongman.
