Right! smh, I came out here to know how long to cook it because I've never cooked asparagus and this is the bs that pops up!? Jeez
Don't add the garlic until the end, you might burn it.
Came out great! Thank you.
Close to the end of my Mothers life, she cook this food for the family. however she did it with the tender part, and washed and dried it, and set it in a shallow baking pan. Sprinkled some olive oil on it and some salt and baked it.

They are very delicious and full of vitamine K.
If you do everything in reverse order you'll have a better product. Oil, asparagus, salt and pepper then after the asparagus cooks for a while and is a few mins from being done add garlic and maybe some butter or more oil and then pull once garlic is looking cooked.

a better way is to start as in the video except removing the garlic before you throw in the asparagus, and add it before plating. That way, the asparagus absorbs the garlic aroma through the oil
No cóż, moim zdaniem szparagi najbardziej lubią towarzystwo masła..:)

Every stalk is different, just cut off the whitish part. The green part is all good to eat, so it's a waste to cut it off.
Sarımsaklar yandı bütün etkisi geçti biraz daha erken koyman gerekirdi

Cutting the tips that deep into the stalk might be okay when asparagus grows in your backyard, and you need to use it up before going bad, but for people who have to pay up around four bucks per pound? It makes more sense to only cut what you have to, and every stalk is different. I would also question frying the garlic "til brown" and then adding the asparagus. By the time the asparagus is even half way done, the garlic is overcooked and bitter. I don't think this person knows ANYTHING about cooking!

I just bought asparagus for the first time and these are exactly my concerns about this video even though I've never cooked it
@oregonpatriot1570

@@based3765 The thing to remember after trimming the ends is that there's a slightly waxy covering on the stalks that makes it hard to season. Most people simply season olive oil and cover the stalks with that. I like to use a potato peeler to remove about 2/3, that way I can soak them in a salt brine solution for a couple hours to season them deeply. You can also use a fork to poke holes. A ziplock bag works well to keep them in the salt water. After that, there's many ways to cook it. Roasting, pan fried stir fried. It's better with some snap to it, so don't overcook. BTW? If you like salads? Those curls you removed with the potato peeler taste great raw and add some more crunch to your salad.

@@oregonpatriot1570 Thanks a lot! Learned more from a comment than from a video! I also found a recipe with cutting it in pieces and using a blender to make some paste from one third of the roasted asparagus, mixing it with parmesan and then mixing all this with some pasta. Will definitely the salad part! Why is it so expensive though ? :)

@@based3765 The price is outrageous, but it should get better as American growers are able to harvest. It's important to understand that it takes from two to FIVE years from planting to harvesting from seed. After the plant is established, it comes every spring. They don't pull it up 'roots & all'. They cut it at ground level. Here's a good video showing the process. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f36ulLyFnZubYtY.html Normal 'late spring/summer prices are under two bucks a pound, but if you keep your eyes open you can find sales. I just paid $0.97 per pound (limit 3 pounds) at Safeway last week. This week it's back to $3.97 per pound. I've got about 1/2 pound left. Here's some GREAT NEWS (if you don't mind doing some leg work) Asparagus grows wild in almost every state. I used to harvest it in the spring back in Michigan. It's hard to see because it's usually much shorter than the surrounding grasses, but if you walk around in late summer the plant has 'bolted' (getting ready to seed) and it's a LOT easier to see. Simply remember where it was and return the following spring. Here's a good page for harvesting wild asparagus. kzread.info/dash/bejne/inispJuTkb2wlto.html

Dokładnie tak, bez pojęcia zupełnie!!!
You ruined it by frying(burning) the garlic "until it is brown."
Apart from putting the garlic towards the end of cooking as has been pointed out in many comments, the green asparagus is not cut with a knife, it is broken by hand, only then you can see where the hard part begins. Greetings from Spain 🩷
If you're going to kill asparagus like that then at least add the garlic at the end. That garlic will be so bitter.
🎉🎉🎉 Subscribed 🤝 Lg emma
Firstly blanch the Asparagus for 3 minutes to increase the colour and soften it. Then into. Skillet with cooking oil, like canola, which has a high smoke point. Add the garlic to the oil earlier on to creat an i fustian. Cook on high heat. Delicious

what is the white vinegar for? and to avoid burnt garlic ??? cook in air fryer first for 7 minutes at 180c then put a tablespoon of garlic butter in pan melt it then toss asparagus in with or without extra garlic for 2 minutes job done?

Magari iniziare senza bruciare l’aglio….
I think it is better to cook in salt los espárragos antes de ponerlos en los ajos.
yanmış sarımsaklı kuşkonmaz 😱
Asparagus is eaten precisely because of its delicate taste. That is why it is not combined with chili, and I will not even comment on the bitter burnt garlic. Unfortunately, this is a bad recipe both in the combination of spices and in the way of preparation.
Ma no!!!
