'I Will Defend It With My Life' | ALLIES in ESTONIA

Estonia is a country that has been occupied several times, but by 1991, they'd had enough. Now a free and independent state for over 30 years, we asked Estonian soldiers what their country is like, what freedom means to them and what would happen if someone tried to take it away.
Filmed during Exercise Hedgehog in May 2022, our producers Amy and Joe wanted to take time out from filming the military aspect of the exercise and try to understand more about the country they were in, and it's relationship with Russia.
If you want to watch the other video we filmed during exercise 'SIIL', head over to our ACCESS playlist or click the link below:

Important to note: in large exercises like this you have 4 distinct groups of people working together. First you have active military personnel. Second is conscripts, third is reservists (i.e. people who have gone through conscripts and are now in reserve) and the fourth group is the defence league. These are volunteers who train on a more-or-less regular basis to defend the country. I personally have gone through conscription and am now in reserve.

@@user-bu5hd1bq5l England didn’t occupie any regions in that close region in that century and never has. The brits were there with their warships to support Estonia, as Estonia was an inportant trade allie at that time and had done a lot of so to say lobby work in Brittan. Even went on to buy submarines after the independence war. The Estonians and the Finns are some of the oldest groups of people in Europe, the first Europeans to say so. With the first of them being recorded around 12 000 years ago, with them belived to be there from allready 14 000 years ago. The Estonian state as it is, first appeard in around 1200 AD, when the before seperated local groups united to figth the invaders. Otherwise trough history Estonians lived in smaller spread out groups. Some that even survive nowdays with their own culutre like the SETO’s, Võru people, and the Island cultures. Otherwise most of the more modern century Estonia spent itself time under the Swedish rule, with only the east of Estonia often being occupied by Russia, tho to small portions to be called an real part of Estonia at that time. Sweden was the longest occupier, then comes russia with something like 200 years less than Sweden counting in the Soviet time too. And then smaller stuff like the Danish years that were in thr start when mainstream religion was brougth in and pushed upon the Estonian population in the north in around 1400 AD. The Germans on the other hand came to the south and to the islands around the same time. These groups of people came to become Lords and they and their familie trees came to live under the diffrent rules of time trough history until 1880-1900-1920. 1880 was important as a lot of rigths were given to the Estonian people then, followed by huge developments in technology, schools and industry. At that time Estonia was under the Russian Tsar, and because if it’s proximity to St. Petersburg, I t became one of the centers of Russian industry at the time, with one of thr worlds biggest factory being built in Narva. This play didn’t play in favour of the Russian Tsar tho, because of his bad management and the losses of the war had led him to have the reds try to overthrow him in Russia, what also spiked long awaited rebellion in the occupied territories to. The reds failed to get to power in Estonia, but succeeded in Russia, what led them to later on invade Estonia and all the other Russian occupied territories at that time, what were in the hands if the white Russians and the local people. In Estonia the Estonians declared independence in 1918 what led to the reds invading Estonia. The managed to push out to the half of Estonia and near Tallinn, as the army wasnot prepared or trained or armed. The morale was low both amongst the people and the army, but it was in the end the students who ran out of schools and onto the battlefields with any weapons they could get their hands on. The reds were stopped and then pushed back, with the weapons that the English had donated at the same time in Tallinn. This included ww1 stuff lime machine guns and so on. Modern weaponary compared to what the reds were using. The reds were pushed back, and Estonians liberated their lands, and even beat the German Iron Landswehr divisions to the south that was planning to occupy Latvia. This meant that the Estonians took Riga while in the other end of the country they were trying to get St. Petersburg. The Estonians never managed to capture St. Petersburg, but they came into the city borders, and they managed to capture the city of Pskov too. What happens then was that the Estonians did not wish ti push further, and they had no wish for an puffer zone. So they made the reds as the losers of this conflict sign and Peace treaty, the Tartu Peace treaty, that statet that the Russian army would never invade Estonia again and Estonia would get to keep it’s historical lands. It took only 20 years until the reds broke the treaty and invaded again. In the ww2. Even to this day Russia is breaking the Tartu Peace Treaty by occupying Ivangord, and Petseri. So your understanding of the local history of Estonia is completely wrong, bs or your brainwashed…

@@kapsaline The white Russians helped organize the police in 1918-1919, but Estonia then shot at them when they attacked 15,000 against 65,000 in the autumn of 1919, which Lenin collected and there are still plenty of reserves in St. Petersburg. And then they retreated to Estonia, but they were not allowed in. Also, England did not help the White Russians, although there simply a decisive approach of British troops would simply lead to the flight of the leaders to Moscow. Finland could defend itself, using the terrain, but in Estonia there is no such terrain, lakes, huge stones. It was just a verbal threat to Lenin from England. England, France demanded even from Admiral Kolchak's Whites to separate the Baltic Sea coast and deprive Russia of access to the Baltic Sea, although at the same time England bombed Ireland and has access to the sea 100 km from any city. A month ago I found out about the 1872 Tsaritsyn or Volgograd railway, from the Volga River to the port of Riga. I have just been connected since 1898 with the city of Borisoglebsk on the railway and then the Mud station 70 km from Voronezh, this is therapeutic mud. Therefore, the mother of her sister's husband, a Lithuanian woman, still traveled by train Riga to this Mud station. It intersects here with the road to the south, the Black Sea, the Caucasus.

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people & went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, & abominable, & murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
