We were made redundant by David double taller Cameron, we. could have made a new harrier but the ungrateful british govenment did want to know, it lived by buying american products, where they hope to retire, on 6% income tax and payments for who and what they know about the uk.

Holy Cow, I've just realised he was 23(?) on that tour..... I was 20 watching the news about all this. Needless to say I wasn't even remotely capable of commanding the defence of a British Overseas Territory... What an exceptional officer!

It's a shame that a fascist junta created this Malvinas myth, which persists to this day, to galvanise support from the citizenry it was torturing and murdering; creating this whole war. I believe that the British forces were right to rescue the population of the Falklands, not one of which were Argentinian and while I have sympathy for the lost Argentinian troops I have none for their aspirations. Well done Gentlemen!

What I find absolutely fascinating, yet worrying, is the amount of damage these incredibly brave individuals dealt on the invading RUF forces. Minimal gear, minimal weapons and ammunition yet through sheer ingenuity and working in coordination and cooperation with the villagers these troops were able to exercise controlled aggressive tactics to yield a successful repulsive attack. I find it somewhat disheartening that they weren’t able to get the necessary equipment that they should have had once a decision had been made for the troops to stay for longer than initially planned, but it’s a testament to the grit, discipline and commitment these troops demonstrated. To find out that there was no QRF and no additional resources must be have so disheartening yet these brave soldiers dug in deep within their souls to protect innocent villagers.

I don’t care what negativity is cast upon the days of old; those were indeed more civilized times. Don’t allow select Hollywood depictions to define the entirety of generations of people.

It was an honor to be part of the Danish contribution there. And we'll be back again next year. The Estonians were very professional, and it was such a different experience to be on an exercise where civilians just go about their daily lives. No way in hell we'd be allowed in Denmark to just roll tanks down the main street in large towns.

Unfortunately, most Argentinians have not moved on after the conflict ended in 1982. They’re still stuck in the past wanting to claim the islands for themselves. The Argentine government could arm their military with Russian and Chinese weapons and equipment if they want to, but they will still lose and they know it. Argentina, please, do not start another war.

Most Muslims have never thanked Britain, most aren’t even aware of this because it’s a success story. If the Brits were the perpetrators, we’d be getting reminded everyday. More Muslims have joined ISIS than the British army.

Even though I was born in 1970 in Rural Ireland, I’m beginning to realise that modern life has become so toxic that people are turning away from modern life and are going back to tradition as much as possible - WW2 was known as “the Emergency” in Ireland, as the Irish Free State government under Eamon De Valera as Taoiseach refused to go along with British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill’s demands for Ireland to enter the war effort, even though many Irishmen & Irishwomen travelled to England to take part in the war - any British sailors or airmen landing in Ireland were quietly shipped back to England, while many Germans were interned in Ireland for the duration of the war, along with old IRA men left over from the Easter Rising of 1916 and the Treaty of 1921 that resulted in a very bitter Irish Civil War in 1922 - we Irish only became a Republic in 1949, yet the Nazis had bombed several Irish towns during the war because of Ireland’s unofficial support of the British, even though we were neutral

I love that book 'Peepo' by Janet & Allan Ahlberg & bought it for my son who was born in 1988. We loved the illustrations & the story. I still have it in my bookcase in the study. Shirley Hughes is another brilliant children's author & illustrator having created the Alfie & Annie Rose series although they were set later than the 1940's Loved this video, thank you for airing it ❤

And how exactly would russia resupply the russian-occupied Königsberg? There is only a railroad connecting russia to this exclave via Lithuania and Belarus, akin to the situation during the Cold War in West Berlin, where it was totally surrounded by the Soviet-controlled East Germany, so the West had to run its supplies to West Berlin under Soviet consent because the Soviets controlled all the roads around West Berlin, or the only thing the West could do was air drops (heard of Berlin Airlift?) So the situation now is reversed, originally russia still had the sea route to hope for because it's also a port, unlike Berlin, so they might ship stuff there from st. putinsburg since there were two neutral countries on the way that they could go pass, but with the developments in Finland and Sweden, the Baltic Sea is now practically a Nato lake, so both the land route and sea route can be easily cut off in case of war. Now if only the germans had a bit of guts and backbones left so they can come out and say that their ancestral home of Königsberg shall return to the fatherland, and this could all be over.

the british think they have the devine right to continue to occupy islands thousands of miles from their own land.they were run out of Asia parts of Africa the Caribbean for the most part and central and South America where they occupied other people's countries. Hopefully as the UK falls apart under the weight of its own greed, the malvinas will revert back to their rightful owners.

Absolutely braindead take. Britain wasn't "run out" of the vast majority of its colonies. And Britain claimed the Falklands when they were uninhabited and Argentina was nowhere to be found. Argentina has no claim to them.

My old schools reverend (Sherborne school) went to live on the falklands around 2017 or so, and it’s funny how he made sure to save up and take like 2 crates worth of shotgun shells to accompany him for the sheer amount of birds that reside on the island

The heroic people of Malta deserved more than the George Cross. They deserved full equal-status in the UK as a British Overseas Terroritory, which shamefully denied to them by scoundrels in government in London. Britain never had a better friend than Malta. But in Britain, still today, we are ruled by traitors.

I have always struggled with the military as I have bad attitude to hierarchy and can't stop myself questioning everything. This is one of my failings. I do however understand its necessity. I have the up most respect for anyone who serves and the brutal experience many go through. I am also aware that this experience breaks some and makes some. The job you do in conveying these stories is invaluable. The stories for most are unimaginable and its important for people to recognise the serisouse of the situations that occur in a military environment. I also think that many outside the military could learn from the humility and lack of ego by people who have done brave acts.

I at 43 struggle with what they spoke about around 16 minutes. The wife makes sure we have physical pictures up around the house, but we do not have a photo album any longer. I have mine from growing up as does my wife, but our children do not. We take so many photos and videos now that a life is almost entirely captured. I make sure to not take to many photos and just enjoy life. Maybe I should actually create a photo album of key moments.
