Essentially making meatloaf then forming into patties. Boiling in water will dissolve away the salt and other flavors - don’t understand that step. Deep frying them looks tasty though.

I think you forgot to show that you added a small amount of flour or cornstarch to the egg and milk mixture? It didn't end up looking like only eggs mixed with milk plus a little seasoning. It looks like something to thicken it slightly was added

Something my mom does, is she prepares the meat like she is preparing meatloaf but she makes patties. She browns one side of the patties then flips the burgers adds two cups of water and puts a lid on. She steams the burgers for around 10 minutes. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FLAVOR , one of my favorites and I wouldn't eat this in a bun or put anything on it, it's great with mashed potatoes.

Sounded fine until you said she added 2 cups water and steamed for 10 min. All the flavor goes out into the water. You don't want that. I don't think this recipe is that great either. Searing seals in juices and flavor. Cooking in water does the opposite. Not to mention adding all the calories by frying liquid bread dough in grease?

These seem very similar to what we call "chicken fried steak" in America, which are delicious, as these appear to be as well. However, for a simple burger, nothing beats plain ole ground beef shaped into patties and fried or grilled with all the fixings on a hamburger bun (mayonaise, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, onion slices, tomatoes, and pickles - all added by preference).

@@danr5239 It is referring to how it is prepared and cooked like fried chicken. That is, the beef "pattie" is dipped in a batter, (usually eggs and cream or milk mixed together) and then it is dredged in flour or breadcrumb and fried, like fried chicken. Thus chicken fried steak. 😋

A pillar shaped souvlaki so to speak, or cheese filled chevapchichi. Then proceed with grilling or sizzling them in a pan and serve them with this delicious sauce and some nice bread or rice shaped noodles... Omg now I'm hungry and it's 11pm at my place 😅

I love how you put them in boiling water which helped par cook them and at the same time cooking the semolina and making them even more moist. Also, the semolina was a surprise. Can’t wait to try it.

I liked everything about this except the deep frying. I hope it would work if I just sauté/fry in a little bit of oil. By the way the title should not have “quick” in it 😉 Otherwise looks like a great recipe!

I agree for christ-like she could have made one or two patties and then fast-forwarded and then she could have put it in the boiling water and just fast-forwarded through that and move down to the next segment is taking forever

Great recipe and demo. This is not "quick" though, just on the glance, 20 minutes meat and ingredient prep, 7 minutes to boil , 5 minutes "cook/parboil" time X2 10 minutes = 37 minutes. Sauce prep time 5 minutes. Oil heating 8 minutes. Cook/deep-fry time 6 minutes X2 = 12 minutes 37+5+8+1 2 Minimum 1 hour +/- not allowing for setting sides, condiments this is far from quick. Title is misleading if not a bald faced lie fail overall on that
