The problem is, trucks in the purest sense are supposed to be designed for businesses (like the one Hoovie described owned before he bought it) to do truck-type stuff. When a company like that oil parts supply company buys a truck like this, they're buying a tool for their business that they're relying on for it to do work, work correctly, do what it's designed to do, and do it reliably. Until the last 20 years, most American-made trucks did that. They did that because the companies understood, that's what people buy trucks for. Today, they have lost their way. Forget that you can get a truck for $100k with heated/massaging seats and quad-zone climate control, even the "base trucks" have overcomplicated engine designs for emissions and fuel economy. Back then, truck were exempt from meeting the automobile regulations. So they built them to be reliable. You can't have reliable and computer controlled - you pick, one or the other.

@@dannykelly3617 I agree
I have a 2007 Cummings on the opposite side, she just turned 35k miles and looks absolutely brand new. Diesel guys always trying to buy it from me. I did have to put a water pump last year but I keep her 100% serviced. It was my late father's and I enjoy just having it and using it for rare trips. Besides a small lift and 20" rims and 35s and Amp steps it's all original.

Cummins, not Cummings. And if you have the 2007 with the 5.9 and not the 6.7, you have a real gem.

@@tornadotj2059 sorry for my spelling error, no it's 2007.5 with 6.7, still a great truck. 6.7 doest seem to hold it back that evey tech that services it wants to buy it. I've had offers for more then it's worth, but worth more sentimental value so I'd never sell it.

If people want to buy it... and actively pursue you...... say thanks but no. That means something good and they are sniffing for a deal. Happens every time I drive my 7.3 Excursion and only drive it a few miles a year.... we tend to get used to what we have and forget about what we have until someone points it....if that makes any sense

@@67FORDTRUCKF250 I live in a very small town. One of my friends has a 7.3 Excursion. He gets asked to sell it all the time.
This is one of your best videos in awhile.
I have a 2008 version of that truck and it has about 255k miles on it. It's a great truck and great to have around my little farm. However, there's a lot of maintenance involved to keep it 100%,

Tyler's the kind of guy to drive around a Dodge with one tow mirror up, and one tow mirror down
They’re better for the environment than an EV or a new vehicle that will never do a million miles and have to be replaced more often - especially where EV’s are concerned.

Any sufficiently designed motor and body should do a million miles. A battery might need a replacement but the used battery is rarely unusable in some other use (such as storage)..
That's okay that thing's built better and has seen more than any modern truck will ever see or do.
You make me laugh so much. You are a genius. We need this in these times... 🎉
I think you should keep the truck. Use it to haul your cars around. No matter what happens, a cheap basic truck is a good thing to have.
Have the same truck and love it! Basic and works. Sure it isn't as luxurious as the new ones, but towing capacity, sunroof, seat heaters, and a platform that you can easily modify with out confusing the computer? I'll take it over the new ones. Did I mention 22MPG? Yeah new ones don't do that either.
Tyler (at the dealership) has got the looks and the charm to be the next Hoovies celebrity/spinoff!
The environmentalists should care and love this. The more miles you do and the older the vehicle gets and you continue to maintain it well, the better it is for the environment - certainly way better than the standard 'junk it after 10 years and 50,000 miles' stuff you normally see

If I remember correctly they're being rebuilt and restored since they've appreciated so much that its best to have a stock one with upgrades than a modded one.

Right, but HOW MANY miles did TYLER actually put on the clock? I ASSUME that Hoovie didn't log the ENTIRE MILLION Miles! lol
You could drive an entire year straight at 100 MPH and still not reach 1 million miles! If you ask me, that deserves some recognition of its own.

The reason we don't have V8's is because V6's are just as or even more powerful than a V8 when you consider the weight reduction aspect.

The reason why Marine fishermen used Cummins engines in their boats is the same reason why that trucks got a million miles they're just awesome
Those work vehicles make the world go ‘round. To be real. If you have everything sorted on that truck and it can haul like you need it too, 17k isn’t that bad of an investment. You couldn’t get a comparable truck for 17k most likely.

Even though the corporate poops don't care I'm sure the people that have worked for them putting that truck together care. Congrats to the workers!
My Detroit DD13-powered Freightliner has 1,921,860 miles and it's only an 07. Let that average sink in. It's worn out. I had 3 plastic panels fall off the interior just today. But it still runs like new.
That is an amazing truck and looks daum nice for a 7digit mile vehicle
Thank you for dispelling the myth manufacturers care about million mile vehicals in most cases. I have had three that I million miled, as I drive a lot. The dealers I bought them from were excited and bought them back for advertising. But the manufacturers couldn't care less.
Only a car guy like Hoovie can speak about getting serviced at "my tow truck driver's mechanic". I have never been on a first name basis with a tow truck operator. That's why we tune in... So entertaining!

That truck's very efficient That truck's very good for the environment. A million miles, instead of five trucks only bought one. All those miles to keep the oil wells going. That way it's self supporting.
Right, you should actually just get a trailer to haul cars and have the truck work every day of the week. Parts are failing, because the truck hardly gets any miles on lately. It will do another 1 million miles, but it needs to be used more... MUCH more often
Al Bundy got a Viper for his million mile Dodge... Well, he almost did.
Thank you that's exactly what I'm saying I love movie and his videos but I just thought that was a little funny those Cummins will last forever with regular maintenance if you take care of them literally a couple million miles no problem
I wish I had money to buy that truck. I would easily give you whatever you had into it and more so you could make a profit to buy more things but alas I am just straight broke. Great video and awesome truck.
Don't be sad, Hoovie. We care!!!
