Absolutely. I was was going to buy a ionic 5 2 months ago and they advertised it at msrp, and even told me through phone and text messages that is what I’d pay. When I drive an hour to go get it, they told me that they had too many people interested and it would have to be 15k over msrp. Not only that, they offered me 15k for my 2021 top of the line trim sportage with 22k miles absolutely flawless condition. They have a 2020 with 40k miles for sale for 27k with way lower trim. They are just crooks. They always were, but now they are over the top stealing money from stupid people. I kept my sportage and am happy to have it and the $400 payment after that. It was literally going to cost me more than double the payment on top of the rip offs in the tens of thousands. There is no way the EV would be able to save me money when you enter the deal almost 30k in the negative. The car was in no way nicer either other than the instrument cluster being lcd. It has the same size infotainment system separated from the cluster. It didn’t have everything my vehicle did.

However, in this case he was (in typical salesman fashion) trying to make a joke by hearkening back to 2000’s rap where the lyrics “peanut butter guts” and “butterfly doors” could be heard in probably half of the songs released then.

Just outrageously low. I can't even get a car that RUNS where I live for less than $5K. He wants these because he knows exactly what is or is not fixed on them and can minimize his risk while maximizing his profit.
