What a fantastic voice and a great performer!
I swear, if this had been released in the 60s, we'd now have a genuine oldie classic.
I am late to this party. Shame on me! I don't know how this existed for two years and I'm just discovering it now. This is one of my all time favorite songs. I've seen Bono and U2 perform it live 5 times. I've seen countless covers, and some of them were actually done very well. Others, well, not so much. Now, I've arrived here and WOW! I'm ashamed to admit this, but before tonight, I'd never heard of Mr. Rogelio Douglas Jr. Well, I know who you are now! In my opinion, this is without a doubt, absolutely the best version of this song I've ever heard. I'm not saying the best cover, I'm saying the best version. Period. No disrespect to Bono and the boys, but in my mind, this song belongs to Rogelio Douglas Jr. now. Mr. Douglas, Sir, the chicken skin on my arms and neck is still dancing. Your voice is like the most golden, most silky, clearest ever honey, and it's flowing ever so smoothly, over a sharp, fine toothed rasp. Then, you go and pile even more on. Your stage presence, and those moves. Good God man! Your channeling Jackie Wilson AND James Brown! And doing them both proud as punch. The bands performance of this arrangement, nothing less than epic. Scott, I've not heard a single one of your arrangements that did not impress me. This one however, stands out as something extra special, occupying a place that is it's own. A tuba (Sousaphone) and a harmonica, c'mon, that matchup alone puts this in a category all of it's own. Now that I've brought up that harmonica . . . Jacob! Mr. Tambourine man. You are a man possessed! What a glorious performance. I cannot recall ever seeing a harp player displaying so much passion and energy. You too have created a category of your own.

wow, I can't find the words to express what this powerful and heavenly interpretation of the song triggered in me, what feelings it created. I can only bow and say THANK YOU
Saw him live with PMJ tonight in Eau Claire, WI and he killed it.
I consider myself a U2 big fan, but I must admit Rogelio does own it big time.
This is my ALL TIME favorite PMJ cover & video! I get the Spirit every time. I scream when tambourine/harmonica guy leaps up on that column and starts blowin' - he is having so much fun. Jackie Wilson is smiling down from heaven when he sees & hears this one.
There is so much positive energy. They sound fantastic, good job.
Tambourine/harmonica man living his best life.
I love this! That style works so well for that song! And all the singers and instrumentalists are great! Wow, Rogelio Douglas, Jr., has a *VOICE!* (Hee hee, and the bit at 3:17…)

Glad you enjoyed it 😊
It’s too easy to imagine this kind of cover, but I’ve been hanging out for 30 or more years to have heard it outside my imagination! And in that instrumental break, I’m sure I saw the ghost of John Belushi grooving with them!
To Rogelio Douglas Jr.... you killed it. Amazing job. I hope/want to listen/see more of you! Well done!

That went from gospel to blues brothers pretty quickly
“Let’s take this to the church!” ❤❤❤❤❤❤
When the spirit moves you....you gotta MOVE!
I’ve always said a U2 concert was like attending church. This song brings that feeling back ♥️
Praise the Lord, this guy is amazing!! The voice!! Geeesus. He needs to go to the very top, his vocals and stage presence are incredible!!! Better than the original, the band and backing singers just add to one of the best performances I've ever seen. Amaaaaaaaaaazing!
My name is Bono, and I approve this message.
