First time I have ever seen or heard of blue glass tables in the 30’s. Cool.
@9:45 the velvet Elvis in the background looks more like Liza Minelli doing Elvis...😅😂 Wow! Mom had several coal shuttles when we were younger. More interesting is the house I grew up in the barn was dated 1812 and the house was even older. The kitchen section was added on and connected the house to the barn with cold and coal storage area and then an old L that was an indoorish outhouse. Long story there was a barn slide door on the cold storage and a huge hole in the floor for coal delivery and storage. It was of course sealed off immediately with 7 kids moving in but a part of the houses unique history. Which included the front parlors being used as a general store and a funeral parlor at different periods in time. And only 2 closets in the entire house. 😮

Lol Liza as Elvis! I think they both went through some similar stuff. I never got to live in a house as old as that, I had friends who lived in a 1770s house in Massachusetts but it was so renovated you could only see bits of the original. General store and funeral parlor were not unheard of if a place was located in a growing area along a pike!

All those old gumball machines are easily openable if they have the key on the top. I found two of them years ago side-by-side no keys. I took a flat head screwdriver that would fit in the hole where the key went and literally just started out. Then I figured out it worked on all similar locks😮
Love those Fostoria Amethyst sherbet dishes.
That Federal moon glow glass caught my eye! Really cool! Imagine using that for a summertime meal on the patio. Now, how come you don't want to eat any of the iridescence? LOL
I was feeling that orange lamp!👍😊 Love you George!❤

I love the Franciscan starburst pattern dishes! They were my grandmother’s holiday-only dishes. Her everyday dishes were the Franciscan apple pattern & her weekend pattern was the desert rose. I remember her being so proud of her dish collection & now, so many years later, I understand why. The rocking butter churn was interesting, I’ve never seen one like it before. I always learn so many new things from you! Thank you, as always, for sharing your knowledge. 😊🫶

@@denisehudson5546 - ohhhhh lucky you! I so wish I knew exactly what they were after my grandparents died and we cleaned out their home. I was only 23, so I hadn’t quite yet found my own style. Now, of course, I would do anything to have gotten her collection. I’m fortunate, however, that I have such amazing memories of it.

Fred and George, I agree with you both on all points. The groovy vibe lives in that lamp, which I appreciated as well, mostly because I'm obsessed with 70s orange right now. Plastic inserts were really cool, too.

'repro' , repo is short for repossession. No big deal
@LauraMe...

So many KZread creators say the repo instead of repro which can be a tongue twister. Anyway, it is used so often it doesn't really hit my pet peeves meter anymore😂
@nicolasrossi5978

@@LauraMe... Yep I hear you, but it does speak to a broader intellectual laziness that manifests about 100+ other ways that I see repeatedly. So for me, not a "pet peeve", so much either, more like just one more indicator of a general dumbing down of society. Most people don't even recognize how often they use entire chunks of language completely incorrectly.
You make me want to go on a antique hunt.
That starburst reminds me also of the Russian Sputnik satellite launched in 57 All very atomic and space age-y

I really loved the blue coffee table. I wish you could do a video or put up a list of antique flea markets all across the country. I’d love to travel and go to a good one within driving distance. We have many Amish ones near Philadelphia but their not really antique they’re more like shabby chic ect. I learn something new every time I watch your show!
Loved this one George! About 20 minutes from my home!
Always learing from you🎉 so thankful I found you, nice person and a walking book, ❤
I'm just discovering your videos and I find them so educational and interesting. At the 5:30 mark you walked by a step-back cupboard that's identical to one I inherited. It belonged to my great-great-grandparents & I'm so thankful to have it. I'm looking forward to learning much more from your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Love the cobalt glass table! I had three back in the 70's. Wish I had kept them💙

Thank you, George.
You showed the Fostoria Jamestown wineglasses, and I recognized them right away. My parents brought me a set from one of their travels…in light blue. I had small children at the time, and wine was not something we had in our house, but they were so pretty, I wanted to use them for something. Long story short, it became tradition to drink eggnog from them at holidays. The kids are grown and gone now, and when we moved seven years ago, I had to downsize….and those went ☹️. I sure hope Goodwill got a good price for them. So many times, I watch resellers pick up things that I used to have and never realized they had much value.
Lovely shop! I love vint meatal toys and their happy colors. Chein. Ohio art. Marx. Wolverine. And by the way, your hair color is gorgeous. I'm blond and my kids are blond to redheads. ❤
Thanks for sharing the information loved the video you one of my favorite peeps 😊❤

Hi, I think that churn is repro as well. Look at the blob of spray paint over the hardware on the side. Pale, fresh wood. Stenciled sign, artistic distressing. Operates silently and glides smoothly. Unaged interior with no wear. Shall I go on? I would have enjoyed being the crafter on this piece, it looks fun to work with. ~~~^..^ 😊
I liked that old coal shuttle, churn and dart board. I don't have space for the shuttle or churn, but that dart board would've likely had to come with me. Mom has a pair of really nice Capodimonte lamps. I used to have quite a bit of old chalkware, but I tended to stay with Alexander Backer pieces. I still have several of his pieces, but nothing like I used to have. My favourites, in the Backer pieces, are the genie and Blackamoor figures, in green. Wow! Those head vases were really OTT obvious fakes. Makes one wonder why they were priced as they were.

My grandmother had a waterfall vanity with the lace-skirt style shades perched atop ceramic (or china?) floral bases. I loved those! But once George showed us the Capodimonte lamp with that longer dress-style shade it became like rubber-necking a car accident on a highway. I couldn't believe such a thing existed and backed the video up several times to give it another look. These lamps are elaborate!! Now I want to see the pair your mother has.
