A distraught dad has glared at the paedophile who kidnapped and repeatedly raped his 11-year-old daughter in NSW and called out "enjoy prison mate" as the predator was taken from court. The girl's devastated parents were in Newcastle District Court on Wednesday to face Brett David Hill, 49, who grabbed their young daughter as she walked to school in mid-2018. They made a point of remaining inside the courtroom after Hill's case had been adjourned to stare at him as he was being led out of the dock by security staff. Hill bowed his head and refused to look at them as he was taken away. The 49-year-old had earlier admitted abducting the terrified girl as she walked to school in Adamstown Heights in Newcastle in June 2018 before he repeatedly raped her at three separate locations during a five-hour ordeal. Hill had been due to stand trial on Wednesday after initially denying a number of the girl's claims about what he did to her during the attack.

I trained myself to type in a similar way when i had a roommate who wouldn't stay off my computer. First i just switched n and m keys. That was easy, then I switched the whole ASDF row for both hands, then the top row then the bottom. The keys were still located in the same places but they weren't labeled right so if you tried looking at the board it just made it harder to do. To this day i can type pretty fast without ever glancing down. Just learned the numbers recently, took like 10 years until numbers were easy. Amazing how fast the brain adapts when you force it to and how slow the process can be if you just try to passively learn things.

You know, this talk about brain made me remeber a meme: when a person is deaf it's whole life, in what launguage is he thinking? Despite it being a meme, I find it interesting. Does he create pure, shapeless ideas, undescribed yet known? Or does he infuse them with sign launguage? If so, that would be a lot of pictures. But I guess it's not really diffrent than us putting words in every corner of our mind.

@louisa1095

Tbh I sometimes think in pictures or bodily/emotional feelings. Which I then take as a reference to put words on when I want to write the thought/feeling down or express it. So maybe deaf people would have that too. Imagining themselves doing the sign language doesn't sound efficient to me. Maybe it would be more like a mixture between the kinda image/conceptual meaning of the word combined with a subtle physical feeling that comes with actually signing. I just noticed people think in different ways, so why not deaf ones, too :)

they must learn written word in their language, via pictures, real life objects.... just like any other person would but just with sound. they know what the word looks like, and what it means.... just not what it sounds like. they would then think the same as a non deaf person?

I'm reminded of Tom Scott when he was in that spinning room, the way his brain adjusted to additional forces on his body first on and then off is a lot like this, just much faster.
I've never been able to find it again, but I remember once seeing a video on TV that had glasses that switched your eyes. I guess it used mirrors and prisms to do this. So your left eye was now on the right side of your head and vice versa. I can't find anything about them online, but they might make a cool project for your channel. Really enjoyed the vid.
