Omg.... First time I heard this.. Tears tears tears,.. This song reminds me of My son Gabriel whom was a month away from being thirteen years old, he passed away from brain cancer. My son was strong and knew it wasnt goodbye, he knew he was going home to the Lord and he will see me again.. AMEN!!!! It bogles the mind to try to think about the way he thought about things especially life. All the dark material he and sang about was bittersweet and strangely enough...it made you happy or made you feel like it's not just you feeling that way and you're not alone . At least one other person understands what you're going through. He's a SOUL PROVIDER!!

Chris wrote this song for my buddy Zavier and his family when his little sister Ainslee passed away from brain cancer. then his dad passed away from brain cancer and on March 28 of this year Zavier passed away to brain cancer. I miss my buddy so much. and hearing chris passed away is heartbreaking because he did so much for their family. rest easy chris, live it up with rory, ainslee and zavier in heaven.

Things like this is why Chris Cornell is my all-time favorite singer. An artist that cares and actually feels his songs. I can think of only a few singers like that, and most of them are long-gone.

This thread scares me. I can't imagine surviving the death of one of my children...loosing a parent I can cope with but my kids I don't think I'd be able to bare the burden. My heart goes out to all of you who lost little ones. I'll be thinking of you and praying.

I am sitting here reading the comments.....I just want to say to the people who have lost their loved ones. I am so sorry that you have had to go through the loss of someone who meant so much to you. It hurts so badly, I have lost my sister and my father. I know that 1 thing that helps me, is realizing how lucky I was to have had them in my life. Even if it feels like it was too short, I am still thankful that I had a sister who was loving, kind, smart and funny. And a father who was supportive, proud, patient and most of all unafraid to love his kids. I hope maybe that one thing can help some of you with what you are going through. I know I will always cherish the times I spent out on a little lake in Texas, playing music with my brothers and my sister singing along with my Dad sitting in his chair drinking a glass of wine with a huge smile on his face.

This is making me cry...so sad...such a tragedy...dang..:(((

I don't know how it's possible to miss someone you never met, but I do. I miss Chris Cornell so much. Somehow, it's just painful to know that he isn't out there somewhere doing his thing, that he's never coming back.

I found this song after my 5 and 1/2 month old son passed in 2011. We played it at his funeral along with some other songs. it was really hard to find music about the death of a child. This song really touches me and I still can't listen to it without balling my eyes out.

It's a miserable feeling to watch you daughter fall asleep permanently and celebrate her heavenly birthday (coming up). Peace only comes from knowing she only knew love the 4 precious months she was here with us and that she's resting in the arms of Jesus.

CHE Oh, that's so sad.I feel sorry about your Uncle. Are you and your family, okay, and how are for you, doing? Yes, time does heal, and I also understand stand, time, is not a cure all for our tears and grief. I still have very dark days, but they're dwindling. What I really appreciate, is that you were kind enough, to comfort and reassure me , immediately after just learning about your Uncle's sad passing. You're an amazing person, that's for sure.
