Chris Cornell - Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart (official)

LYRICS
Every time I stare into the sun
Trying to find a reason to go on
All I ever get is burned and blind
Until the sky bleeds the pouring rain
When you came along the time was right
Pulled me like an apple red and ripe
Wasn't very long you took a bite
And did me wrong, and it serves me right
And I nearly forgot my broken heart
It's taking me miles away,
From the memory of how we broke apart
Here we go round again, again
Every little key unlocks the door
Every little secret has a lie
Tryna take a picture of the sun
And it won't help you to see the light
Every little word upon your lips
Makes a little cut where blood pours out
Every little drop of blood a kiss that I won't miss
Not for anything
And I nearly forgot my broken heart
It's taking me miles away,
From the memory of how we broke apart
Here we go round again
Every single feeling tells me this is leading to a heart
In broken little pieces and you know I need this
Like a hole in the head
Every single feeling tells me this is leading to a heart
In broken little pieces and you know I need this
Like a hole in the head
And I nearly forgot my broken heart
It's taking me miles away,
From the memory of how we broke apart
Here we go round again
And I nearly forgot my broken heart
It's taking me miles away,
From the memory of how we broke apart
Here we go round again
Here we go round again
Here we go round again
Here we go round again
Rest In Peace, dear Chris xxx

I believe he suffered from depression, probably from young adulthood. Listen to the lyrics in most of his songs. Depression is like an invisible snake that slowly squeezes you until there's no life left to go on. I see it now in his amazing songs. Consciously or unconsciously he sung about it. That's the sad part of being a artistic genius. It bubbles up from the unknown and shows up in their work almost like a possession until expressed. Unfortunately Chris couldn't exorcise his demons :(

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13: 37‭-‬43‬ Jesus replied, “The Son of Man is the farmer who plants the good seed. The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one. The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world, and the harvesters are the angels. “Just as the weeds are sorted out and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the world. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!" ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭12: 10‭-‬12‬ "Then I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

About removing this video.. I watched this one for the first time (and i watched many other videos that night.. ) in the hours right after i learned the terrible news.. It touched me first of all because to me it really showed his amazing voice, sensitivity.. When the circumstances of his death came out it felt weird.. (with regards to this video). Today i think - to remove it just feels wrong - wouldn't it be also about removing all videos (Chrisses, and many other great artists that we lost in the past..) with lyrics with regards to depression, addiction, suicidal thoughts? To me it's a piece of art. My heart goes out to his three girls.. his family and real friends..i can't imagine their loss..

Every time I stare into the sun Trying to find a reason to go on All I ever get is burned and blind Until the sky bleeds the pouring rain When you came along the time was right Pulled me like an apple red and ripe Wasn't very long you took a bite And did me wrong, and it serves me right And I nearly forgot my broken heart It's taking me miles away From the memory of how we broke apart Here we go 'round again, again Every little key unlocks the door Every little secret has a lie Try to take a picture of the sun And it won't help you to see the light Every little word upon your lips Makes a little cut where blood pours out Every little drop of blood a kiss that I won't miss Not for anything And I nearly forgot my broken heart It's taking me miles away From the memory of how we broke apart Here we go 'round again Every single feeling tells me this is leading to a heart In broken little pieces and you know I need this Like a hole in the head Every single feeling tells me this is leading to a heart In broken little pieces and you know I need this Like a hole... And I nearly forgot my broken heart It's taking me miles away From the memory of how we broke apart Here we go 'round again And I nearly forgot my broken heart It's taking me miles away From the memory of how we broke apart Here we go 'round again Here we go 'round again Here we go 'round again Here we go 'round again

A música é muito linda, mas o vídeo é um tanto sombrio, agonizante e aterrorizante! Muito perturbador, muito revelador pq dois anos depois ele tirou a própria vida enforcando-se. 😢😢💔💔

who was roberts supposed to be? cant be andrew wood waaaay too long ago... im trying to understand the symbolism here... i think the dude left us a message and i want to get to the bottom of it... all of his work has always been rewardingly cryptic...

A long life with, it's so bummed to know its over. I do find different variations which is decent, music wise. We'll never meet, but maybe a convergence in some other perception. Take care.....
