This sounds like the kind of move I made also lol. I was living in Chicago and moved to Napervile, IL because I like the peace, safety and nature that I have access to. Your decision to down size is a smart and strategic move if you want to travel and not have an expensive home base to pay for while you are away. Prior to covid I was traveling on the company dime because I work from home in IT. I was in and out of China, Hong Kong, Denmark, Sweden, and Prague. You are on the right path and doing what makes you happy.
