How were you able to keep breeding this family for so long? I tried the perfect circle challenge in Iceland and the entire dynasty died out in a matter of generations due to infertility from all the inbreeding.

Well, the more hideous beings you spawn, the less likely it is that all of them will die, and the more genetic diversity you'll have. In this case, I would assume that the polygamy helped quite a bit, since half-siblings are only as related as first cousins. So, if you start with one dude married to 4 full sisters, you can reduce the loss of genetic diversity by only pairing the resultant offspring with their half-siblings instead of their full siblings. There's actually formulas that let you calculate how inbred the resultant offspring of any related pairing will be, as it's very important for trying to prevent endangered species from winding up like the Hapsburgs, so if you aren't afraid of some math those could probably help Edit: The one most likely to be of help here is called an "inbreeding coefficient" Edit: I was wrong, half-siblings are about twice as related as first cousins, but still not as related as full siblings, so while the loss of genetic diversity would still be reduced, it wouldn't be to the same degree as I had originally predicted

They wouldn't necessarily look homely or seem mentally deranged but would likely have severe rare diseases like many inbred communities do today. This problem is also typical in animal breeding, entire breeds contamined by a gene flaw causing some terrible disease that a founder parent had but which got unnoticed until people started breeding its progeny together.

As I often play as the Targaryens in the CK2 GoT mod, I can say with certainty that I have probably played 'incest simulator' style more than not.

Video suggestion: children only kingdom (if the game allows it) . After 18 years old, the character, be ruler or whatecer role held in your domain , is killed/removed. A lord of the flies sort of thing.
