Ойындар
In Crusader Kings 3 (CK3) I BEAT THE TOUGHTEST CHALLENGE WHEN PLAYING TALL (not really i made it up myself) by going from 0 to 100 development with the WORST START. This was BROKEN and OVerPoWeRED because I MAXED out my BUILDINGS and make TONS of GOLD. Congrats! you pretty much just read nonsense words.

This is literally how every run I play ends up. It begins with "Oh, I'll play on speed 4 and actually think like my character without minmaxing anything", next thing I know, I'm the head of faith with Communion tenet, my capital is 100 dev, I'm ahead of everyone else in tech, and I got my genius, herculean, beautiful twin sister pregnant. Also in the game.

I had an idea for a video: Your viewers submit save files that they are OP in. You've gotta take a neighboring country and try to defeat them. You can even set criteria like, game start date MUST BE 1000AD so that they have a challenge to develop an OP nation within a timeframe. No created characters. Think it would be a fun difference from the "disaster save" files

Very good idea👍🏻 The problem I see is that the AI will probably destroy the realms themselves. Like, I formed the empire of Mali and left it to the AI to manage for 1 year and when I returned I was committed to two wars with my whole 30000 strong army standing around in the capital😂🥶
@brendanhill8483

One time I created the roman empire and conquered all of Europe, north Africa, and Arabia and had an army of 130,000. although its not in 1000AD and I did use a custom character but it would be interesting to see him beat that assuming the empire doesn't collapse under the AI.

Besides all the ways you mentioned, if you are a vassal and have the “coinage” tech unlocked, you can modify your vassal contract to grant coinage rights which increases your dev growth in your capital by another .3
Imagine, if you would, being a modern Korean archeologist on a dig in west Siberia, and finding the remains of long lost New Korea.

Development in steppe is harder. There in NO culture tradition to boost development or reduce cost of buildings and terrain have -50% development growth. You have 2 traditions for forest/taiga development and buildings cost.

True, but the Khazar Jewish holy site in either Itil or Kerch gives Steppe Development.

There are scattered hill terrains in some baronies. The county of karkaraly has hill terrain which makes it a good capital for a steppe empire because instead of -50% development it only has -10%. It's also among the counties with the most baronies in the game, so if you build it up properly after converting or reforming you can get pretty rich

@@tonuka6257There's also a Faith in Africa that gives 25% dev growth in hills with a specific holy site, and another 15% for the Megalithic Constructions Tenet.

You don't get Industrious on Steppe? Weird
You don't need to pick "the longest pilgrim" to get the trait. Medium, Long and Very Long will all give the trait. Only "Short" won't do
Though that is a pretty rough start, it does come with one advantage; nobody in their right mind even wanted what you had until you had already built it up into a powerhouse. In your early years, there were many who could have crushed you with a flick of their pinky, but they were currently too far away and too busy to really take notice of you. By the time the Mongol hordes got their shit together, you likewise had plenty of time to create a powerful force of your own.
You also can further increase your development by picking up the Megalithic Constructions tenet to your religion which allows you to construct megalith buildings in temple holdings which increases the development growth by 2-20% depending on its level.
Just as an addition if your Steward is not just your friend, but BEST friend, then he gains an even higher boost to his activities.
Might be the only time you’ll ever hear someone say excitedly “he’s perfect he’s got no traits!”

You missed the BEST based development growth. Court GARDENER! The tradition _Garden Architects_ unlocks this court positions which gives an additional 0.1 - 0.7 PASSIV development growth per month in your capital which is NOT penalized by max. development from tech and or by Steward job.
I think it would be much harder to play tall in steppe land. I would love to see it

There's steppe that kicks ass in the 800s. The Jewish Horse Lord, the Khazar have a fucking kick ass development in the duchy "Itil". Kick ass for steppe. Think it's at like 10 by default. So you could feudalize as soon as you meet other reqs. My most recent game started in Kyiv and I varanagian'd my way to Alania after they gained independence, then killed my way through the Khazar. Currently the Khazar empire in my game is full Jewish, Norse, Horse Lord's. Goddamn was it worth it.
I'm literally from that county It's the #3 richest city in Russia because of oil (though Paradox fucked it up and placed Surgut and Kazym in one county even though they're 300-400 km apart)
Really impressive. Also want to shout out Ireland for forming and controlling Wales, southern England and Frisia.

This video was incredible. Amazing work on the gameplay and the editing. It was a treat to watch.
I really liked this video. It felt half tutorial half fun gameplay. Well, fun for us to watch - I realize it was probably not the most fun game to play because of all the sitting and waiting. Instead of playing tall, I'd actually like to see a wide game. Not a world conquest, per se, but maybe see how widely you can spread your culture. Or I'd like to see how you deal with a game where you have a lot of powerful vassals struggling against you. Alternatively, instead of games where you rely on stewardship and learning, I'd like to see games where you rely on diplomacy and intrigue. Just some ideas - mostly because I struggle with those things and I'd love to see how to do them properly.

Damn it. You got -25 from me because you used a hook on me. I liked the video.
I think megalithic constructions as well as gardener cultural tradition are helpful for increasing development, thats what I did recently for my siberia to 100 game
I like starting from Clans, before feudal, going to try applying this and see how it goes.
Laktanids surviving is crazy cause theyre a tiny 1 duchy dynasty surrounded by other cultures and hostile faiths in 867 but they still there at 34:05 props to the ai 💀💀💀💀💀
I would love seeing what would happen if we continued this through a megacampaign converting to EU4 and Vic 2. The pops would be insane.
Cool video as always :) I'd love for you and play as the Kingdom of Frisia... and only Frisia, then when tall and powerful scheme your kids into other kingdom titles making your house (Dynasty) control Europe. It's hard, but doable.
For a video starting like a prank, it's pretty instructive about growth developpement 😅. Thumb up !! and tax for the lesson 😂

There's a cultural tradition that let's you build guilds one era early I think, that could also come in handy.

Big fan Ottawa and I have a question. Is there a full version to one of your outro songs to a video you posted a few months back? I think the song was called Kings crusade and the video was about making the smartest man ever. Love your videos ❤️
Golden Aplomb matches nicely with Planning Development
The most overpowered factor for developing your county is councillor efficiency. The two ways to increase it, which you did not mention, are with the "Family Business" Realm tradition and with the last perk from the Erudition tree in the dynasty legacies. The effectiveness not only increases their total efficiency by 10% each, but also increases the scaling of their respective main attribute by 10%. This means that instead of 0.175 development per skill, you will get over 0.25 development per skill, about 46% more than a councillor without those perks. Becoming Soulmates or best friends and the "Planned Cultivation" scholarship lifestyle perk can further increase this by 40% and 20% respectively, giving you 0.567 development per skill of your steward.

Go industrious and then even when buildings are maxxed out on January first switch out one building in every holding containing your culture. It gives 25 base development progress. It used to be a flat 25 every single time u did it but i t was massively broken so they nerfed it.
