I was able to continue my playthrough where I had remade the Roman Empire, so I hit the “Secure the Mediterranean” decision and started getting 10k Renown a month. Was absolutely bonkers

yeah, i was surprised but that too. I was playing as a norse ruler and after a few generations i controlled the whole of Europe except one of the smaller islands. Since my family was already in the thousands of members i had family in almost every realm (including emperors). When i finally conquered the island that i was missing i got this decision that i never seen before, when i picked it started getting 60k renown a month. at that moment i was pretty much every month unlocking 3-4 legacies a month. Sad that it was patched, tho understandable when we see the numbers.

Viking Isle of man, then new culture and faith that has a bunch of martial bonuses, infinite kingdom holy wars, and equal gender inheritance if you can get it. Each new kid gets their own kingdom, and after a few rulers and renown stacking items you get there! Because you can get the money from killing troops in battle under the viking dynasty legacy, you can have zero gold issues without developing your land and can have a huge MaA always raised that can win everything for you. Its way easier than the development game you normally do in my opinion! no realm management, and no real issue with inheritance because they will always be a good little warlord.

@@OttawaWelshman Well first off all you have to start out with a really high base renown/month value. Now the currently best way to go about it without too much hassle would be a complete world conquest. The way you'd be getting renown from it would be via "Above Court Grandeur Expectation Bonuses" and artifacts. Like Mesopotamia is a small Kingdom and if they reach lvl 10 CG that's 4renown/month already + artifacts you can gift them. And now if you do a WC you can get above 1k renown/month. I got 1200 renown/month as my maximum (in 1251 AD), however I could have gifted more artifacts around, waited for better tech for the whole world so their economy increases and thus they increase their court amenities. So you can definitely go higher than 1200. And then the Mediterranean decision is based on kinsman. So the more you had, the better (thus if I waited 200 more years in my game, I would have had an even higher multiplier). An equal faith helps a lot with getting more kinsman. And now I get a ~x100 multiplier with that decision, but seeing that human population grows exponentially this can get even bigger. And so I got 117k renown per month for up to 80 years (though 1 year would be enough for all legacies) As for how to showcase this in a video, best thing would be getting more kinsman for a higher multiplier, the rest takes a bit more time.

@@OttawaWelshman Oh unfortunately it seems that this modifier is changed now, no renown gain anymore sadly, still very good video though! It seemed like very normal gameplay for most of it and I was really confused on where was the masses of renown going to come from lmao.

Nice thing to see at the end would have been a summary of the family. How many members, how many positions they held, how many countries they were running, etc.

From the first screen I knew whats gonna happen. I literally cant stand to build this new kingdom in my EVERY game since the Iberia have came out, its too OP

Love how pre-exploit, runs like this kind of tell a fun story. In this case the Kardashians became famous by first taking over a bunch of land to get their name on the map, but then were led by a Queen who transformed their culture to be focused more on being good documenters of their own success who throw great feasts, build beautiful castles, and collect shiny objects, making the more famous than ever.

I did this completely on accident. I usually try to breed all the good inherited traits, so I have to disinherit a lot of kids. I accomplished the decision early in a character's life, but I'd wait until a new character took over, before deciding on new House perks. When I got to the end of that character's life, I saw I had an absolutely obscene amount of Renown, and I was able to fill out almost all of the dynastic perks AFTER I disinherited 8 or so kids.

if you want to manage your stress easilly nothing beat the sadic trait, you lose stress all the time and if there's no event, just execute someone, i thought it was bad since it' a sin, i was so wrong, must be one of the best trait in the game

This channel deserves way more subs! This is some of the most entertaining ck3 content on YT, the way you edit your videos and narrate things that are going on have made you my favorite content creator for this game, much love

My new favorite create your own adventures recently became the Varangian adventure for Mongolia. Due to the mechanics of both culture, it means that you travel east, and then violently expanding east when you both hybridize and become the greatest of Khans for that sweet Casus Belli.

On the topic of raiding I actually love to go after the biggest fish and I bring men at arms only. If you've set your army up right you'll easily stack wipe anything and since numerically you are way less, you earn massive prestige. I've seen fights reward me thousands of prestige and I lose a handful of men while they lost everything. I'm a lover of feudal pirate campaigns as raiding is immensely powerful in many ways.

Lmao these videos are so good. Keep up the good work man - they keep getting better and better over time and I feel like you've come a long way int he last year or so.

The most fun playthrough I've ever had was when I set myself to be emperor of Hispania and then pull off a Habsburg, getting my dynasty to rule independently basically every Kingdom and empire level title I could, it eventually snowballed to the point that my family ruled the entirety of western Europe, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean and even the entire middle east and Persia through crusades, I found that to be way nore fun than just paint the map and rule these kingdoms myself, I was fighting all of their rebellions and factions for them, and since I was the dynasty head and had more renown than I could ever use I could always use the decision to end dynasty wars to make sure they wouldn't eat each other

Hey, another way to get insane amount of Renown is with Mystical Ancestors tradition. There are some cultures with this tradition in China and it works very well with playing as Mongol Empire imo

I went with the buryats and it works very well, and even allows you to maintain a massive, centralised empire, but the flat rate of renown gain eventually gets outscaled and slows down dramatically once costs reach the 15000-20000 mark.

Even in my modded games I've never had that much renown. Well played good sir.

I think starting as a iberia character then quickly end the struggle and dominate mediterranean is much quicker. I get more than 2k renown per month within 200 years.

Me, who lives in Cagliari, Sardinia and gets attacked every time: Am I a joke to you?

So I have a pretty bastardized way of handling my succession. Elective succession is great, but in conjunction with my method is a better version of primogeniture as I am able to control exactly who recieves my titles. The issue is that when the line of succession is checked is that it checks your heirs versus the titles previously held. Elective succession laws only effect the ducal title but not the county level inheritance, which simultaneously means that each county is separate when checked by inheritance. You cannot rectify this by granting your heir those title because he is not in line to inherit them. The disinherit decision does not mean that you cannot grant that child titles, but does mean that he can recieve any title, regardless of the current line of succession. This means that you can disinherit a child who you want to inherit, give him the counties you want him to recieve, and then reinherit him. Upon your death, those title will not be taken into account, so he will recieve your primary title, but everything else will be tertiary or already given.

I honestly don't understand how renown works anymore. I used to farm it by granting independence to my house members whenever I could, and was up to +100 a month, playing tall at the same time, then at one point I got bored and while painting the map and basically taking over entire europe, I noticed that my renown went up to 250-300, instead of going down as it should've.
