My 11-year-old son told me that he doesn't have any friends at school because he has autism. This broke my heart, so I decided to start running a D&D session for him. To both work on his social skills and help him discover imaginary friends. I purchased a MonoX and here are the first three prints I ever made. His Barbarian, Cleric sidekick, and his Pack Mule!

Jerry Holkins once mentioned that his son, whom has autism, goes to group therapy where D&D is used to facilitate social interaction and social-problem-solving

@@ChayComas Oh yeah? That's awesome! My goal is to get a FDM printer and start printing terrain. Then I'd like to set it up with the school where once every two weeks to host a D&D game at the school for kids who are interested. That could allow my son to make some friends and also get the kids introduced to the wonderful world of TTRPGs.

As someone who was diagnosed late in life, I wish I had someone like you people to help. This sounds like a great thing to help develop social cues and skills. Small controlled but open environments, sounds amazing. I hope more people see this comment and keep it in mind for later.

My favorite is a standard “dog” that comes with the Ender printers. My three year old son was instantly taken with the figure and named it “Plopy”. I have painted it white with a red belly and golden stripes on it’s back according to his very specific instructions. When I asked why the golden stripes he said “so it can roar like a tiger”. It sits on his nightstand now.

This was my first print. I was going through a deep bout of depression after having a bad panic attack and losing my job. It was the first thing I did in months that actually brought me joy. Since then, I have printed a lot minis, but nothing brings me as much joy as when I first printed that bookmark

This is my first 3D printed terrain, and it's hot off the press; I'm still painting it, as you'll notice it still looks a little slap dash. I've GMed tabletop for years, and was forever envious of tabletop terrain. During quarantine I discovered a talent for crafting, and spent the majority of 2020 following Black Magic Craft tutorials. A month ago I got my first 3d printer, with the goal of creating a collection of terrain for tabletop. And, I am currently building an immersive set for a D&D tradition that my friends and I have kept for over a decade after high school, "Thanksgiving D&D." We all return home to see our families, and now we're bringing families of our own, but always make time for a Holiday One-Shot. This year, they are going to be absolutely blown away!

In 2010 my grandfather passed away after having suffered his 2nd stroke. He was the first person to introduce me to tabletop games, comics, and his love of eating good food. He invoked my love for miniatures of all types. We would spend some evenings drawing and playing games for hours. I started my D&D Game in memory of him. This game gave me the strength to battle my tumor last year. He always wanted to travel, as a merchant he will be able to travel all kinds of fantastic worlds, and maybe meet some Heroes along the was.

This mini belonged to one of the servant of the main antagonist of my sibling’s campaign. For months in-game and IRL she hunted the players down relentlessly, and they threw back all her hits twice as hard every time she caught up to them. This prints represent our perseverance, through pain and trials, both in-game and in real life, that we all went through and overcame through determination and companionship.

Painting this owlbear is the first artistic thing I've done that wasn't terrible and I was proud of, giving me confidence to continue in this wonderful hobby, and fulfil my need to get arty.

I designed this file with my nephew. I 3D print them, install flush magnets in the back, and paint them different colors. Then I put them in public places like stop signs around my neighborhood. A note on the back says “Move me or Take me.” It’s so great to see them move around or be taken. It spreads a little joy and adds some more fun to the world.

This brave Dragonborn warrior was the 3D print that inspired my daughter's first Tabletop RPG character. Not only great at slicing Giants Scorpions clean in half, this model has a way of bringing fathers and daughters together. She calls him “Blue” after the Jurassic Park Raptor. He is now destined for countless dangerous adventures in the future. We look forward to spending more bonding time learning how to paint it.

I chose these Manuel Boria's trolls because I love his style. They're very whimsical, reminding me of Justin Gerard's illustrations, and of Jim Henson's work on favorites from my childhood: The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and Fraggle Rock. I paint miniatures because it's therapeutic for me at the end of the day, imagining the world that these figures live in, and what they might be doing.

Then, it was easy to insert her into a campaign with my friends.

For my 12 year old son - I would print this model first because he is my dragonborn barbarian in a d&d campaign with my friends. It would be cool to have a physical version of my character so that battles are more immersive and fun. It would be really cool to print minis for everyone playing and for the monsters, instead of random bits of paper.

This is a cockatrice that I made for my D&D group. They love seeing the creatures on the table. But my favorite thing about this print is when my daughter said, “I love your chicken-dragon, Dad!” Now she is always asking me, “How are the prints coming?” and “What can we print next!?” 3D printing has sparked her imagination and creativity. This specific project is the most meaningful one to me, because it was my first ever creation and beggining of the great adventure with 3d printing :) I designed it myself, without using any references and only with few months of knowledge and practice in zbrush. It was supposed to be a boss-like character in my D&D Campaign. Archvillain which was hiding behind a skull mask and used a sword with bone handle, coming back at my players every few meetings.

The iconic “Green devil face” from dungeon module S1 The Tomb of Horrors is one of my favorite and most remembered images from Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Finding the STL and having it printed up, and then painting it, was a joy for me. Making Gary Gygax’s famous adventure come alive in 3d on the tabletop as I tell both his stories and mine is my fondest wish.

Well this was my first D&D print.. Over the last year I lost my job and needed a creative outlet and started FDM printing, painting and playing D&D. I honestly started not knowing how much I would end up LOVEing this as an hobby! I know I have a long way to go when it comes to painting and there is so much to learn when it comes to printing, but the time spent seems to be super enjoyable - and looking at this first mini brings a smile to my face!

Thank you 3D Printed Tabletop for creating the contest and for getting me into the hobby years ago!

(Love your videos and just want to say you were the inspiration for me to buy my 3D printer. I even used your videos to help me choose which one and get the settings from a video you did, so thank you Danny!) I chose my print because it was the first one that I was confident in my painting enough to show it to friends. It was where all of the different painting tips/tricks finally came together. 3D printing is something that has to constantly be worked on and honed like the craft it is, and I've loved every minute of it!

This is Aram. He’s my first ever print and the first NPC I wrote for my first campaign. This campaign got me through the worst of my depression, gave me something to look forward to when I had nothing else. Soon, it ends. Soon, Aram dies. But his mini will remain, symbol of my greatest passion and the betterment of my mental health… in all his bright, hideous orange glory.

This is great! I have always loved what a friend of mine could achieve with his 3d printer & I would love to boost my D&D experience with this!

This Elf bust is my current most meaningful print, It is where I got to learn a little bit about supports and when it came out of the Resin printer it had been soo silky smooth looking like a person. I have not been able to paint it yet as I have been trying to master the 3d printer in my about 2 weeks of owning one.

This is wonderful. I've wanted to get started into 3d printing for a while but have been reluctant to purchase a 3d printer not knowing which one to get.

The first session of D&D I played was subbing in for someone; that character was stuck in a pit with an unknown monster while the party tried to get them out. I remember in vivid detail the way the DM described this creature creeping out of a crack in the wall, perched atop broken stone, staring at me with one huge eye. A Nothic- a creature I've loved ever since.
