It was actually a really delaminated failure! I had goals to make a Goobertown priming rack, but this is what stuck (pun intended with that sticky tack)

Love how I can relate to this - you watch a bunch of tutorials on KZread by people who obviously know what they are doing, and have done it many many times... and then you try it yourself and oofff... not even close. :) Feels good to be human.

Fantastic video, Danny! Loved that hardware store spray idea! And I'm so sorry for your markers losing heads 😥 As a tip for you awesome viewers, using alcohol inks works perfectly as a tint for clear resin prints and is SO rewarding to watch the gradual color change. No need for fancy pigments, just the standard, cheap inks from your local art store! Just be careful, as this stuff can get really messy.

for a nice metallic look try starting with a gloss black then rub graphite powder on it and buff it with a microfibre cloth

Pledged for this set on day one (early bird hype) I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the full set now I've seen them actually printed! For the jade owl, did you check the medium on the inks you used? Really didn't look like it was reacting properly there, just sank to the bottom. For hydro dipping it really should be floating on the surface as a film that you dip into.

Was really tempted to back this one, but ultimately decided it would be just more in the backlog. Great stuff if you are into it, love your misadventures!

Hey Danny, great video and awesome job! I jumped on the KS a few days ago, cool to see others excited too!

Another worthy KS to back! That fly ended up with a great shade!

For the gems, I suggest metallic base than contrast. Helps create a rlly cool effect. I printed the lich hand in resin, was happy to see that get some love as I was still figuring out the best way to paint it.

That amulet looks awesome You should try hairspray for a gloss finish as an alternate to the usual gloss spray. It is surprising how well it works - the scent fades eventually too.

is it possible to use typical alcohol inks that are used for colouring resin casts to colour the liquid resin of resinprinters?

Oh, I see you're using those droptop tops on the GW pots? I had these too for nearly a year now (I backed their kickstarter campaign). As long as I painted regularily, those worked out okay, but I took a break for a month and then they made the paint pots dry out and the plug stick like nothing good. I finally bit the bullet, removed them and transfered all my GW paints to dropper bottles. What's your experience with those tops so far?

If you need some tricks, just let me know, since I've mostly done props for another KZreadr. Since I don't normally adverse past client work, I can always send you a link if requested. You did a great job though.

Have you considered acetone vapour smoothing to remove FDM lines?

Acetone works with ABS, but not PLA.. but I think it would be awesome for the ring, fly, elephant and dog

Hey Robinson, we wore a mask throughout most of the day (not just during any specific painting), but I definitely got excited doing some parts. Either way, you're right - I will try my best to do better here. Thanks for the comment!
