Brilliant. So clear and concise. Thanks Sanjee!
Thanks Sanjee :)
Extra notes on CMC Markets, it is $0 brokerage up to $1,000 per stock per trading day (e.g. buying $500 VAS and $500 VGS on the same day is $0 brokerage). Brokerage when you sell is $11 or 0.10%. Pearler is currently the only broker to have an autoinvesting feature, so the $5.50/$6.50 brokerage can be worth it for people who find value in that feature.

Great notes SwankyKoala. Especially on the autoinvest feature. Might need to speak more into that in future videos.
Thank you!
Great idea, well explained vdo

Thanks so much! I'm planning to try some new topics out in the new year. Hope you enjoy them too.
Thanks for the update Sanjee, with Pearler I bought their credits when they were promoting them at a 33% discount which I use to pay for purchasing fees. After they dropped their fees to $6.50 Pearler then locked in my remaining credits to a lower investment fee of $4.33. Which should last me 34 months in monthly automatic reinvesting.

I am with CMC and I used to pay 11$ every few months to buy ETFs. I have now been paying 0$ for quite a while. I simply buy the positions over a few days instead of in one single day.

has anyone switched from Vanguard personal investor to cmc? did you have to pay to have your shares transferred and any CGT?
Surprised you didn't mention the biggest pro of Commsec which is T+2 settlement. CMC is great though, the 0$ trades are a new promotion but $11 trades has been around for a long time. I switched to them because they've been in Aus since 2007 unlike some of these newer companies.
Hi Just like chess sponsered asx shares you bought can we buy US stocks to your name in australia? rather keeping it as a custodial accounts that has no our name for share holdings . ? thanks
Can you look at HVST and YMAX etfs? Maybe compare to VHY Also, little mention of SYI
Hi sanjee, what’s your thoughts on superhero? Can you do a video on that ?
How do you actually move your portfolio from CommSec to CMC?
Hi Sanjee, I am a first-time investor and need some advice on buying ETFs how much should in general invest?
CMC 的确有串改顾客交易记录的事实。几分钟光纳斯达克的$15万利润变成了几百块的亏损!不同时期的买入价格便成了同一个买入价!
Only issue I find with CMC is that, the money takes 1-2 day to arrive that for which is very slow, if you want to buy it quick.
how come you don't use stake. Or did you explain that it another video that I didn't watch
Hey 😊 what is better for me from Germany , DPS or CVDs ? The question is : ist this two different Products or Liquidity Pools ? There is different Fees or Cost ? Thanks
Jumped from CommSec to Stake. I buy $600-$1200 parcels don’t wanna get smashed. Free brokerage for a year is nice

Hi Sanjee, thank you for the awesome content. I had a question. You've made a previous video comparing brokerage fees, may I know why you ended up switching to CMC markets over other brokers who have lower brokerage fees such as Pearler or Stake? Was it the age of the broker + reliability of the platform?
@McIntyresMalts
Жыл бұрын
Yes I am also curious @sanjeeSen , if brokerage fees are one of your main drivers as to which platform you use and you only invest in the ASX, why not just go straight to stake @ $3 / trade? What am I missing here?
How about stake invest
Commsec Pocket bro. $2 fees. Downside is they only have 7 ETFs which sucks. Bonus though is everything is still all in my Commbank account.
Iam with comsec I do 26 trades per year at just under $1000 per trade=$260 brokerage a year,that amount comes off the tax when I sell eventually.very reasonable I think.
How about Inactivity Fees ? - Fees for Moving Monies out from the Brokerage account back into your Bank account ? and of course Spreads ? very important adds up! thx

In regards to CMC Markets. What is the minimum trade after the first initial investment of $500? It doesn't specify the amount on their website. Cheers
@SanjeeSen
Жыл бұрын
Hi Hayden - yes it is $500 for any buy order. I actually just tested it today. They give you a warning and don't let you put through the buy order for anything under $500. I believe the $500 limit comes from the ASX. You can put through sell orders for less than $500 though.
Isn't Perler also a custodian and not Chess sponsored (as the others are)? Which is a key difference to mention

Is CMC share registrar is Computershare? All my Commsec shares appear in Computershare but shares I bought via CMC yesterday is not visible in Computershare.
@SanjeeSen
Жыл бұрын
Hi P P, I can think of a few reasons why this might have happened. 1). Sometimes it can take 2-3 days for the new shares to appear in Computershare. 2). Did you purchase the new shares on the same HIN Number - because it might then appear under a different computershare account. 3) Share registry is different for different companies you invest in. So if you've bought shares in a company that uses a different share registry than Computershare (like maybe Link market services), then your new purchases won't appear on Computershare. I think it is best to call/contact CMC and Computershare to understand what might have happened.

Thanks @@SanjeeSen. Shares I bought are VGS. I can see the shares I purchased via Commsec in Comoutershare but not the ones I bought via CMC. As you have advised, I'll contact CMC and Computershare next week. BTW, love your videos and they have helped me to start investing.👍
Holy velvet voice
Does CMC offer CFDs ? that is an OTC product meaning you are likely be trading against the house where as Com sec is direct market exchange traded products , no conflict of interest , correct me if I am wrong
@OffGridInvestor
2 күн бұрын
CMC is normal share buying, you get dividends paid and all. Not the CFD hot potatoes that are continually advertised on KZread. But you're right about CFD. Contract For Difference. You're effectively buying a BET, it's basically a betting app where you're betting against whatever wall street banks think will happen. And you're not actually holding any assets. I have heard some horrific stories on people doubling down, borrowing money from family and losing $180,000 then suiciding. People not worrying about stop loss because "how far could it go overnight" too wake up and find they've lost $300,000 because the company collapsed overnight on the NYSE.
How would one go about moving brokers? Do I just sell all my shares on one broker and purchase It them on the other? or is there like a transferring process? Great video btw, makes me rethink comsec now.
@swankykoala4836

You can transfer your shares from one broker to another. This doesn't cost anything and doesn't trigger CGT as you're not selling shares. I think you need to make a new account with your new broker, ensuring the details between your new and old broker accounts are the same, then requesting a 'broker to broker transfer' form from your old broker.

Hi Shreder, you don't have to pay to setup the share brokerage account. But you do have to pay each time you make a BUY or SELL transaction. You can find out about their fees on their website.
I only found Stake through CMC's comparison table where Stake looked better :)
