My dad held onto my red envelopes for 18 years. Every year he deposited them into an account so they could grow in interest. On my 18th birthday, he gave me a check for around $50,000 and I got a truck for work and college. I hated that he held the money when I was little. But damn I was happy he held it for me when I turned 18.

After I turned 12 I never needed my parents to deposit my money for me, I received a junior bank account from them wherein I could deposit (and withdraw) money by myself. I was never someone who spend lots of money on toys/games or whatever, so my junior account was never empty; I think my parents were lucky to have an easy child in that aspect. Before that, I put all my money in the piggy bank and then my parents went with me to the bank to empy the piggy bank into a savings account they had opened for me.

@@ParrotPentester I can kind of understand the confusion, Steven doesn't look nine in the video, so they assumed "he can't refer to Steven, it doesn't make sense to refer to Timmy since he's not giving the money, so Timmy's dad is 9?" Timmy got a job at a neurosurgeon at a very early age, so him being a father (ignore the sex part required) meets the theme of him being precociously responsible.
