I met Big Ounce back in '76 when I was having a real rough time. He let me crash on his couch until I found my feet again, just a complete saint. Very sorry to hear he has passed. RIP 🙏

Big Ounce is a stand up individual, I remember back when I was a kid he read me bedtime stories and even saved my house from 57 armed robbers over the course of 56 days

It's amazing how Big Ounce can resurrect, seemingly at will, every time that he dies. What a talented and handsome man.

A serious moment here, I just love that uncle farmer dad Ben makes it obvious when he's being sarcastic and also gives out the correct information afterward. I struggle with sarcasm, so I unintentionally, probably spread misinformation, and especially with animals, too many people doing it can cause damage, which is just saddening... So yeah... it's nice to neither be made to feel like an idiot, nor to run the risk of spreading harmful misinformation.

But essentially, the gist of it is that there is no way a python could survive (for long) in the wild where he lives, so it would be really difficult for them to be invasive. Essentially the joke is that he is mocking people who will stage 'finding' snakes in times and places they would not be active naturally for sensationalized content. Those people will share domestic snakes with each other for their videos which you can tell by the markings of specific snakes (sort of like fingerprints or freckle patterns, they're unique to the individual snake). The 'humane society representative' was one of Ben's friends, a fishing youtuber he's had on his channel several times and is definitely not a real humane society representative, and the joke there is that he has a clipboard so he looks professional, and that's probably a tactic people who fake the snake finding videos use.

I’m crushed to hear about the loss of Big Ounce. He was the only reason I passed my astrophysics class at my university. Big Ounce was a true genius and a scholar. May his atoms create the brightest star in the universe😔🙏🏼

Uncle Ben, you’ve inspired me. Yesterday I rescued a adult male Yellow eared slider ( which is invasive where I live) and kept him as a pet.

I just found out about the Urban Rescue Ranch and am binging the You Tube videos. I get such a kick out of them. With the amount of comments on here and with how busy Uncle Ben is, I'm sure it's impossible for him to read all of them. Maybe someone here can answer some questions? What will he do with all the baby chicks, ducks, etc.? Are they adopted out? I would think, being a rescue, you wouldn't want any more animals, so there has to be a reason.

I remember. Summer of 92'. I was having a bad time and i didnt want to talk to anyone. Then came Big Ounce. He taught me to make friends and I was never a quiet kid again. He will always be in spirit for me. RIP Big Ounce You will be missed
