I CANNOT believe I've slept on Stereo Rigs - Tone Master Pro Stereo Rig Build

In today's video, I'm going to build a stereo rig that I will use with my country / rock band. I decided to use a Vox and Princeton amp, but have enough effects to play anything my ear enjoys.

Man, you're really putting on a path to getting a Tonemaster! After playing guitar for 50 years, I'm still excited about composing, tone, and creative use of effects. And I've owned a lot of pedals (still do) and amps, guitars. But now what I want, as nowadays I only compose and jam with people at my house, is simplicity. I want to be able to dial in and easily pull up a wide variety of sounds without buying a bunch of new boutique pedals or gear - cause I'm always seeing some new effect or gear demoed that makes me want it. But when I think of all of the effects and possibilities with the Tone Master, I think the cost can easily be justified. And the updates should only make it better and better. It might be interesting to do a video that talks about the improvements of the Tone Master since it was first released. There was a of initial criticism - some of it by people who were mostly using presets and hadn't owned it long enough to really know there way around it.

What you just said is exactly why I've jumped ship from analog to digital. Digital is really good today. Growing up as a 90's baby, solid state amps were beginner tools until you upgraded to tube amps. In today's economy, I feel like it has reversed hahaha. I started on Tubes, but after lugging around about 100 pounds of gear and $5k to a show paying not even a 10th of that, I love coming to a show with 40 lbs of gear hahahaha. Also, it saves so much money if you love experimenting with tones. The things you can do in the digital world is so expensive to replicate in the analog world.

Hey man great video as usual while I'm waiting for my TMP to arrive (your videos convinced me :) ) I have two questions : 1.- On the TMP is better to use distortion pedals or Drive channels of the Amp are good enough?? and 2 .- That guitar doesn't get out of tune when you use the tremolo ?? cause I don't see any locking system or something like that I love the tele (blue one) that you use but the sound of this gold one is really good , at least that's what it get from my headphones.

1.) it depends on your taste. 2.) It's pretty stable! I've worn these strings out, so it will drop slightly, but with good strings it stays in tune! it blew my mind man

Great video. Are you using stereo cables? Also, on the back of the TMP are you running out of output 1 and 2? I made a two amp preset utilizing both of the outputs (output 1 for one amp and output 2 for the other). Thanks for the video!

You can certainly run stereo rigs in analog as I’m sure you know. But the modeler makes it an easier setup. Modeling is new to me too as you know. Are you running two FRFRs in the room or monitors? I’m on the fence about buying another FR12 or just running through the FX loop of my Magnatone for stereo. Either will work. Just curious what your in the room is.

It is expensive and a more physical setup as opposed to 2 XLRs and some mouse maneuvering. Thanks for the quick reply. Sounded great in cans but wanted to know how you were monitoring. I’m going to copy this rig and give it a go. I don’t think you can upload to the cloud with the custom IR. And that is a fantastic IR. Cheers Damion

If i have a focuscrite how would i plug everything ? Can i use output1 2 channel from tmp and send it to only 1 input in the focuscrite ? And set the track as stereo in cubase? Would use like a two mono to one stereo channel. Dont know if i can do that...

  • @damionandy

It's easier to go straight from TMP into your computer. But you could do lines 1&2 out into your scarlet and run your scarlet in stereo (not sure how to do it in Cubase, I mainly use Logic Pro). The inputs on Cubase need to be in stereo, not mono. Or you could do 2 mono tracks and just pan how you want. Up to you hahaha
