    Wow!!! No lie, having everything off when selecting the wanted pedals is something I did not do, and it is 100% what I have been doing wrong. Doug, you're a life saver!!!! Thank you for breaking this down

    This is sooooo helpful! Thank you. By the way one of the best things I learned from this video is to put the boost pedal near the end of the chain! I could never get my solo boosts loud enough running it before the amp but now I've got plenty of headroom running it after and this is a game changer for gigs!

    Great video, Doug! Also important to remember that each footswitch assignment can also modify individual block parameters like gain, volume, delay feedback, tremolo speed chorus depth, etc.

    Hi! Thank you for all of the videos on your channel. I have not pulled the trigger on the TMP yet. The only hesitation I have is I need something for gigs and whatever I choose will have to have the chance of causing a train wreck be almost zero. That being said could you expand on this video and show how I would integrate what you do here into a set list? Let’s say I set this up for song 5 in the second set. How would one go about doing that?

    This is the most helpful & useful video I've seen so far on the workflow of the TMP. Awesome! One question: is it possible to lock the button of the currently active preset? So that I don't mute the whole thing if I accidentally press the button a second time...

    I have this question as well - if you select the same switch twice it reverts to other settings in your example all blocks bypassed - Im used to other modelers where unless you program a second scene on the same switch it will not respond to a second press and only allows you to move between switches to change the scene. Thanks for your excellent videos btw!

    Presumably this is better (and easier) than creating a song from 3 or 4 different preset numbers? One preset with every pedal you need for the song and saved sections assigned to footswitches?

  • @DougBsDigitalDen

    Yes, that's it. I think it makes more sense than the "song made from presets" procedure, but that might be because I'm used to using scenes from my Fractal days.

    It is limited to only allowing one type though, so if you want a switch to turn off a pedal and change a parameter on another pedal it can't do that which is shame as that means you need to double up on pedals

    Hey Doug cool video as usual, I have a question when you create each "Scene" the parameters of each pedal are same for each "scene" or you can have different settings for each effect on echa footswitch?? thanks a lot keep the good work

  • @DougBsDigitalDen

    @DougBsDigitalDen

    3 ай бұрын

    Each footswitch has 5 assignment options, so if you use 1 for ON/OFF you still have 4 left for PARAMETER CHANGE. So you can change 4 parameter values. That probably works for most stuff, like changing Gain or Volume. Hope this helps!

    I’m using the Fender Tone Master Pro ( FTMP) with a Roland Blues Cube Artist (RBCA) 1x12 combo amp. I’m attempting to use the 4 Cable Method like I did before with my Boss GT-100. I want to use only the effects in my FTMP signal chain. I don’t have any amp sims in the FTMP signal chain. FTMP patch serial instrument signal chain: compressor > overdrive > effects loop 3 > chorus > delay Cable connection: Fender Strat > instrument input on FTMP FTMP send > RBCA channel 1 clean input RBCA send > FTMP return FTMP output > RBCA return I am a getting distorted audio signal on my RBCA with the effects loop engaged and all of the effects bypassed. I never had this issue with my Boss GT-100. Sweetwater has been unable to help me and Fender has not returned any help either. Any help suggestions would be very much appreciated. I don’t want to have to return the FTMP.

    I'm assuming you're using the FX Loops on the TMP. For now you should be using Loops 1&2, because there's some distortion on Loops 3&4 under certain conditions. Let me know if that helps.

    @@DougBsDigitalDen FX loops 1&2 are locked into the beginning of the chain which is not what I want to achieve with the 4 cable method I am using with my Roland Blues Cube Artist (RBCA). I want the compressor and overdrive to hit the pre-amp of the RBCA and the chorus and delay to hit the power amp of the RBCA. That is why I have the FX-3 s/r placed after the compressor/overdrive and before the chorus/delay in my patch chain. The RBCA has a high gain input that the send of my Fender Tone Master Pro (FTMP) FX Loop 3 receives. I have always used the high gain input with my Boss GT-100 (BGT100) before and never had an overdriven audio issue. I guess I am going to have to switch to the low gain input on the RBCA. I’m thinking that the FTMP has a higher db output from the the outputs 1 and 2 (or FX loops 3 and 4 sends) than the the ones on my BGT100. I’m enjoying your videos. Thank you.

    The reason seasoned Fractal and other advanced modeler users are not fully satisfied is because they know what those models offer in true scenes / snapshots. It is not just turning effects on and off, it's also the ability to have 4 channels per block to adjust parameters. The combination of these elements is what makes the difference. And also the ergonomic and intuitive nature in which it is presented. And yes, you can adjust parameters here. But it is very clunky. Especially having to declare a "starting value". Which is totally unnecessary for 95% of usage. This is a step in the right direction but it is very clunky, incomplete and not very intuitive. Again, it's a nice stopgap. But they need to simply emulate how the other do it. They have it perfectly dialed in. This is the only thing I don't like about this unit. Other than that, I feel it's superior. Thos just holds it back from being perfect.

  • @DougBsDigitalDen

    No disagreements here, I'd like it if they add channels too. And Parameter Change is strange in its current format; how do you know the "inactivated value"? But we have to keep in mind that Fender's philosophy is that with gapless preset switching there's no need for scenes, snapshots, channels, etc. Maybe they'll make some concessions. Sure would be nice!

  • @cmiggiani

    @cmiggiani

    @DougBsDigitalDen yeah, but gapless switching has absolutely nothing to do with scenes and snapshots. Functionally, they don't have anything to do with eachother. Also, Fractal now has true gapless switching. Yeah, the "original parameter value" has absolutely no value to 95% of users. Programmatically, it is very simple to write the values of any config entering into the change to a side table (database) and then recall it when you exit the change. It makes no sense whatsoever. Especially considering that you are "hardcoding" this value. If you ever change that value in the parent block, you then have to remember to go in and change it in that footswitch change. It's also the reason why "just copying the Preset and making small changes" is not a solution. If you find that you want to make a change to any parameter in that rig that spans across all those presets you just created... guess what... you have tons of changes to do in all those other copies. This explanation of how to use this feature is excellent. But the functionality itself is a stop gap at best. They need to fully implement true scenes and do what they did with the rest of the unit... make it even better.
