I BOUGHT The Weirdest SUBARU Ever For $1,000 *Subaru SVX*
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I've been searching for another SVX since I couldn't make a deal on that 1993 Subaru SVX LS-L. Plenty of comments suggested that I buy the Hoovie's Garage SVX but I was sure it sold long ago. I was over at the car barn the other day and there it was, sitting outside, and overshadowed by other cool cars. Tyler messaged me a few days ago and said "If you want it, come get it." Zack and I hopped in his Subaru WRX and headed over to meet Tyler and pick up the 1994 Subaru SVX LSi. This old grand touring Subaru is straight piped and the EG33 H6 engine screams like an exotic car close to redline. We'll have to make another video just to go over the car, there's more than enough talk about!

The amount of pure charisma Hoovie's got, I'm surprised this guy did not pick acting and is not in movies.

I have owned so many cars in Florida that would not even be allowed to get registered due to inspection had I still lived in New York. It's crazy how the rules vary so much from state to state. I just pray Florida never gets emission testing.

Love how he finds the rarest cool older cars & wants them to live once more.. Great content for the channel.
I bought a 92 in 2002....ran it till 2010, was a great car, only very pricey to repair.....SVX love.

That's a pretty sweet thumbnail. The Hybrid Ceramic Wax works way better than it has any right to. I have it on my LS400 and it's borderline magic if you apply it correctly.
I subbed to you when you were at 3.2k and look at you now 6 or so months later your at 75k keep up the good work man your videos have good content
Awesome John! I remember when Tyler bought that, I just assumed he had resold it as well. It cleans up very nice, good score for $1k!👍
Cool car! Looking forward to seeing you wrench on it
dude! these cars are sick! I am excited for this series
Two of my favourite car youtubers in the same video with a car i'm deffinately drooling for, i'm not into subaru's but i love this one and how small it is but lots of power. Pretty cool.
Your divers window may not go up/down due to window clip failure. They are available from Subaru and take about 20 minutes to put in. They cost less than $15.00
Nice! love the svx, hope to see more videos of these one
WOW! An old friend.... I bought this car new...well, over a year after it sat on the lot for over a year...It was a great car (at first)but chewed tires at an alarming rate with my
Sweet find bud, Always wanted one of those!!
Compared to the plans Tyler originally had for this car I'm glad it went to someone who will take care of it. Looking forward to future SVX videos!
I had a 1992 :( rusty frame so I ended up selling it , which I still had it 😭 can’t wait to see this thing done
He WalchJRGo I used to have a 94 svx. One of the few things i did to it was putting in a remote switch in place if the 20 amp fuse. To turn on and off the awd. Just rember to put in a 20 amp inline fuse. By doing this you you will make it a front wheel drive and gane about. And put in a true twin exhaust with x pipe with a k&n filter. Then you will gain to 20 + horsepower depending on the condition of your car.
Lol I don't think I would feel safe buying a car from hoovie! I've watched his videos!🤣
Nice.. Looking forward to some more vids on this one..
So Radio, Proper Exhaust System, Belts, Cleaning and Detailing and Flipped.
used to have an svx. If you mash down the gas pedal, let off , and mash it down again your activate "power mode". A light turn on in the instrument panel that says "power".
JR was genuinely impressed with how many things worked in this car lol..usually at that price most things don't work.
Man I cant believe it, I actually love how that thing sounds with the exhaust like that lol
Definitely need more svx videos, I love that thing if I find one I want to keep it, anything odd is great, because at least it tried to be different

Had a 94 Legacy wagon same color combination.... It was a RACE car! lol
Remember seeing one of these for the first time back in 1994 in Myrtle Beach
I remember Subaru's of that era were notorious for coolant leaks for a cheap gasket that was always located in a tight spot that sucked to access and required a lot of disassembly to even get to. @12:15 there is proof that a car has blinker fluid reservoir!
That car deserves better than Tyler, glad to see it finally get some attention

Another sweetheart deal for $1,000. Here in Mississippi, such nice used cars for so cheap are almost impossible to find. $5,000 at least is what something like that would run you.
Beautiful car men, great engine with a 3.3 L with 6 cylinder and 230hp, great how you find those cars!!!
It's fun to see JR wearing Apple Watch while Tyler is wearing Rolex GMT II Master.
I actually drove this car in college. My roommate owned one and I learned how to drive a stick shift with it. It handled well but was severely under-powered with the base engine. That car was amazing though and a lot of fun to drive. He did doughnuts in the parking lot in the winter with a lot of snow which was crazy fun. Enjoy that car, it is a blast to drive.
This is one of my favorite Subarus I've ever owned.
That exhaust. I don't know what to say. Sounds soooo sick! I lucked out in a car buy. I got a 97 protege for 1200 and everything works on it.
"Glued to the ground - impressive". In Hoovies world it's normal. Impressive would be glued to the ground with 4 hole sin engine, leaking rear diff and being THE CHEAPEST subaru in the states.
Hoovie had me rolling this whole video he has got to be a lokey pothead
Saw title and wished it was Hoovie's car. As always, JR doesn't disappoint.
I picked up a Fwd SVX for $600 about 5 years ago and drove it every day for about a year until the transmission went out. these eg33s sound badass
Love the crossover episodes!! Like Scooby Doo with Batman.
When he was filling up the back window washer reservoir it looked like he was filling up the headlight with blinker fluid lol
14:55 I see you topped off the blinker fluid
I have owned 22 cars in my lifetime and my 92 and 95 svx, 05 A8 are the most memorable for good reasons
An old timer showed me that using Molykote 111 grease on rubber seals (such as door seals, t-top seals, etc.) will soften them back to factory and make them seal again. Try that to fix your water leaking window run channel and any other rubber seal on the body! I would apply it and let it sit overnight and wipe it off in the morning followed by a silicone spray, made everything like new again.
Alert the Media! Hoovie got more than he paid for a car! (If you don't count the Wheeezard)! Can't wait to see the progress.
I have had 2 SVX's they are fun cars but they do have a few problems, the earlier models like 92 maybe up till 94 had weak transmissions, not really weak but not big enough for the car size, they were 4EAT models. Most Subarus "I have had 7 and still have 2" tend to leak oil on the exhaust and smell of burned oil. the rear wheel bearings are somewhat undersized too and they too tend to go bad more often than other cars. The boxer 6 is a pretty peppy engine, I really liked the two I had, I first got familiar with Subarus when I bought my first XT another fun little Suby.
But it is a 6 Cylinder Boxer engine the EG33 model 3.3-liter boxer horizontally opposed flat-six. Cool!

You picked a good one bro. Sick car looked for one myself.
Deep inside I'm happy that you bought it, b/c I know you will take care of it and restore it (partially) to it's former glory.
Hoovie gives no effs about them neighbors. I love it. “More” vroooooom, lol

hey i found your channel whenever you liked some of my photos on instagram. liking the content!!!!
Damn thought hoovie was going to keep thisone. Still love the Guigaro lines on this car and the 1993-1997 Lexus Gs
just got one myself for the same price, svx-lsi has a wrx 5 speed and sti exhaust from previous owner.
You need to get you a Cadillac Allante. I just bought one on Ebay by mistake. ( I bid so low I just Knew I would get outbid but I didn't!) It is a very beautiful and unusual car with it's own set of quirks.

I always thought that window design was the craziest thing! That looks annoying from the interior to see the line in the glass where the window that rolls up and down meets the window that doesn't.
If you can get this thing properly sorted, you'll have a sweet little ride. Always liked the SVX.
These things are crazy rare these days. I just saw one at a car show today... sweeeeeet

I get so much attention in my Jurassic Jeep...it gets kinda exhausting, haha
12:18 .... that car is so weird it has blinker fluid...
Love the svx. I've always wanted one.
Kydos to you sir for knowing the original parent company name. Also the SVX was the first car to have its marketing deemed illegal due to claiming "this car will go so fast you'll lose your license". The lawmakers felt they were throwing the gauntlet toward anyone who would buy them.
I never heard of the Subaru SVX and got a Matchbox one from Target today.
I would like to see a video on how you modified your air tank and how it's better than original.
I hope you do an exhaust note comparison with this SVX and the R8 once it's running again. LOL it'd be amazing if the Subaru was louder.
Sold these new back when they were new.Cool cars.Perfect flip for you.
I love those SVXs, such cool cars. Please consider doing a manual swap if that is possible, these cars were only available with automatic transmissions from the factory and a 5 or 6-speed SVX would make a cool car even cooler if it can be done.
Dude you should def keep this awesome rare find!
@WatchJRGo, I know your all into unusual cars out of the norm, but what are your thoughts on the BNR32 Nissan Skyline GT-R? I eventually want to get one after I pay off my Jeep JK and fix all its Tyler Hoover-esq problems.

I drove one of these waaay back when I worked at a auto body shop.. it was very slow and strange looking, that's all I remember from it lol.
Very cool car! I've wanted a SVX for a while now but can't find one that's not either way overpriced or a complete p.o.s.! Most I've come across were like the first one you looked at, in need of a complete restoration with over 150k miles. I did come across a beautiful blue one with only 26k miles that looked brand new, but he wanted $8k. My search continues....
Looks like a keeper it's bin well looked after
Put a five or six speed dccd (driver controled centre differential) transmision in it and a propper exhaust.
Use to love them svx if remember the windowdont open the whole way right? It's like the bottom half. Friend in high school his farther had one it was so differant lol...
I used to see a blue SVX around my neighborhood from time to time, but I live in the rust belt so either the rust got it or the owner just doesn't get it out as much anymore...or they traded it in for an SUV because that seems to be what 90% of people around here drive now. Side note: be careful spraying that degreaser on a hot engine, you could wind up with an engine fire, it's flammable!
ho crap 12:15 I didn't know there was a rear reservoir and I legit thought "taillight fluid?!?!" for a sec
