I Bought The Rarest Nintendo Game Boy On eBay

Ойындар

After searching around for a while I finally managed to find a good looking Game Boy Light on eBay and had it sent over from Japan. The Game Boy Light is considered to be a rare collectors item and rarest Game Boy variant available since it wasn't released outside of Japan. Today I wanted to take a look at the handheld and see how it holds up.

I bought this gameboy light, in the hope it would have a backlit screen as the one the modders do, and frankly, I was highly disappointed, because it almost don't make any difference when compared to the original gameboy. It's still hard to see, and I thought I bought a defective one, and because this gameboy is so rare, I can't find any documentation about it. Thanks to this vid, now I know mine is working as expected. Still disappointing, but at least, I don't need to look for any fix to it.

We made the backlight-less gameboys work by developing the arcane art of intuiting the perfect angle for all light sources. Had one of my nieces inherit a AGB game boy advance and some games for it from her older sister, and she asked how the hell you were supposed to see anything. I proceeded to tilt it the correct way while it was still in her hands, while facing her, and had her call me a wizard because I managed to get the angle correct without being able to see the screen myself. It became pretty much muscle memory, and like riding a bike, you never really forget.

Lol. I was thinking how on car rides you had to deal with it getting too dark, and today you have to deal with it getting too sunny. Took my Vita once to the lake and a cookout thinking I was going to get a full day of gaming...couldn't see sh*t.

Maybe something like the Kindle PaperWhite, except with color and a good refresh rate for gaming.

Is there third party replacement light panels? I own a game boy light and it comes on it glows but I've been reading some comments that it fades over time and I'm getting concerned

Most people would wonder why they didn't bother to make the Game Boy Colour have the same backlight as the Game Boy Light.

The rarest varient is actually the glow in the dark shell that you won from the racing game. But only in japan.

I had this as a child, but my friend stole it. I was my favorite thing ever. I loved the silver color, and the Indiglo backlight. But the price is just too high nowadays to get another one. :/

The rarest gameboy is a glow in the dark case. It's a first gen gameboy a game company gave them away in a contest drawing to win.. they came in a white plain box and one shows up on ebay every couple of years.. less than 350 were Givin away..
