The guy who you traded with reminds me of myself. Back when I was younger, I made trades I regret years later. For example, I traded in like 10-15 or so gameboy advance games for a brand new DS with pokemon diamond when first released. I sold 3DS games for $10-$20 a piece because I had to move out and needed space. Traded many pokemon and yugioh cards for video games that were popular at the time, etc. Of course cant dwell in the past, but I totally can relate.

@@JoseAntonio-qe5hy hmm depends on the person I guess. But kinda neat to see it once in a while. It's kinda the memories, u can emulate the game. But the experience kinda ain't the same. For the space issue, dpends if ur rich or poor, if ur rich u probably have all the game systems and games just fly by you, to the point they are not meaningful and u have a bulk of them lying around. But as a rich person u can easily afford space, while being poor space is a real issue. But Id like to point out that in the video, he was able to fit it all in a small box. Im pretty sure it would be neat to have someone come over and just play retro games with. And when they are unusable, Im pretty sure with some glass and glue anyone can make it into something worth displaying. Sorry Im not much of an achiever, so games of any form of memorabilia is my form of looking into the past. People even say I shouldn't keep figurines unless I plan to sell them. But I do see your point and at some point, I might end up thinking the same way and just not care about those kind of memories and be more practical.

I responded to a facebook ad to trade a brand new switch oled. I traded a Nes system, SNES System, sega genesis system, and 2 n64 systems. 40+ games and extra accessories. i walked away with the oled switch and $100.00 in cash. We were both very happy with the deal. everything i traded just packed away in the closet. it was all garage sale, flea market and thrift store pick ups that i had planned to sell on ebay one day. I might have gotten more on ebay but, I was able to move it all in one transaction.

Not everyone know or want to deal with the hassle to sell it on ebay. You would surprise what you can find in local. I usually buy old nintendo switch and resell on ebay. Last year when they have the switch shortages I bough tons of broken switches and resell for 100-150 profit a peices. One time I got one switch which I still keep for myself that I bought from a Kid, he lost its charger and cant turn it on with regular charger, I got that for 50 bucks include 2 joycon and the dock. Found out he leave a game in that switch I sold the game for 45, so ovarall only cost me 5$, and the best thing is it was an an patched switch which can install hacked game and can sold for 500$ in ebay.

I’m not even going to watch this video, I’m just going to comment my experience selling my childhood... When I was younger (2000 born) I collected and traded Pokémon cards.. I remember the KZread community was very small and we traded through KZread and PM. I traded at school, and in my neighborhood. I had a great awesome collection of Lv.X’s, EX’s, full arts, classics .. great collection !!! Base set charizards too, that I traded through KZread!! Back then we didn’t care about their value, but just the badass looking cards.. I sold them Senior year of high school, not knowing their true value, worst of all I sold them to a man who obviously bought cards for reselling. He knew he took advantage of my naivety and saw it as a steal.. Moral of the story, don’t sell your childhood, they have sentimental and priceless value..

😂 I agree with him. I won't let my nephew touch my DS, or 3DS. My ags101 is a bit dinged up, and my original from childhood gba color is a bit dinged up. I'll him touch those. They just got him a Switch though. It's a different world than when we grew up. I never even thought of it until recently. I lived in Milwaukee these past years it's 300mbs down. Here it's 3mbs.... Imagine opening your console and you don't have games because you want fortnite. You have to wait weeks to update the console and the game .. Thankfully I'm around I got it all going before the birthday. Still though he wasn't happy because even thigh he has this sweet power a Mario control I got him and guardians got him a Switch. He wanted skins, skins, skins! Peeeeely🙄 he's doesn't know about the upcoming fornite joycons with n peely b but I'm getting it for him

While I myself wouldn't trade most (ie almost all) of my old stuff, partly due to nostalgia and partly due to being a collector, I could maybe see this guy's casual logic. Avoid all hassle with selling + make your kids happy with a quick Switch-switch (yes I tried to make a funny) and just buy a cheap handheld emulation machine (with incredibly superior screen if we're talking VS older handhelds) for playing older stuff and don't mess with old cartridges and such. Yeah there is charm in actually playing the original hardware, especially cartridge-based, but with some older stuff (like the NES) it's also a PITA. I mean I still don't get this at all, considering handhelds tend to hold up, but hey... I'm also not a casual. Bit of a downer to hear this was all just to quickly flip though (oh and the US/NTSC prices sound crazy. Don't think that's what CIB GBA goes for here but I've also been out of the loop). I get it and I don't; I like it and I dislike it. The cognitive dissonance is real:P

You have to be quick and constantly looking thru Facebook marketplace. Always refresh the page and look thru newly listed or video games and consoles.
