The New Tiny Game Boy Is Here

Ойындар

A while ago I backed a Kickstarter that was looking to further miniaturize the Gameboy Advance SP form factor to where you could attach it to your keychain and easily take it with you. Today we are taking a look at what showed up with the FunKey S.

...of course this is definitely not the best way to play the games; but even so it'd still be pretty cool to see something like this during an era where handheld gaming was mostly 8-bit.

I remember 20 years ago having a little portable space Invaders keychain that I'd whip out to play during a boring presentation at school or something, and even though it wasn't much it was very cool to have that in a clandestine form factor and I appreciated having something fun to play for a short amount of time when I was bored. This reminds me exactly of that and I would have loved to have this thing during that time. This is definitely not designed for long-term play, this seems like it would be great for quick play arcade style games.

I love this thing. I'd play Advance Tour in waiting rooms (oh... so many waiting rooms... I'm old. It costs.) However, I think the world would go completely bonkers over a FunKeySXL. Just double the size of it. It will still be smaller than its design cue, the SP, but it would, I think, be large enough to comfortably play a lot of the great casual, non-action games from the 16-bit era. Who's with me!! RAHHHH!!!!

Its probably a good thing that the shoulder buttons are stiff because they will get weaker as the device gets older and you don't want weak shoulder buttons rubbing on your keys or your pocket. You want them stiff
