    Just a tip from an old maintenance man, when using an adjustable wrench, never pull against the movable jaw, always pull against the fixed jaw. Prevents tool breakage.

    Every time I see someone using an adjustable "wrong" I want to comment! but... it can also save you some broken knuckles. That's why an adjustable is called a "knuckle buster". Good luck with the equipment.

    @@eastterminalrailway5975 the only exception is if your doing some farmyard mechanic level dumb stuff where if it was to burst into life the usually weaker ajustable jaw would shrapnel at you, in that case in that case let it blow up the other way and hope you get hand out fast

    Hey Uncle Brian and Grant.....it be cool to attach your tie stuff from this video to your hyrail truck...........and use Hydraulic system from truck to run Grant neat system..use boom to move ties and this equipment around and use locks and chains for security 😀👍We are so excited for the ETR....WoW can hardly wait for "FIRST REVENUE CARS "....many God's Prays 🙏😀

    Amazing what you can do. I know your goal with the ETR, however on the days your son is not there I think you should accept experienced volunteer help. Heaven forbid something should happen while working alone.

    Now that summer is here that little dozer needs to be out burning expensive diesel. Drainage, ties, plates, spikes: the time is now. Notice any water coming out of the drainage pond to the east? ETR nation needs more videos with any kind of story to tell of the progress of the future great ETR.

    I know small engines pretty well and IMO you will need at least a 14 HP engine to power that tie puller. The Wisconsin engine should be rebuildable with new piston/rings, bearings and a little head work. It won't be as efficient as a later OHV engine but you'll need the power it can produce.

    We almost had it running today at the subscriber meet up in Pennsylvania! Possibly a new condenser and cleaning the head and valves will get us in The "running Zone" B.

    Brian, someone reported to me that you were using wrenches in place of mallets/hammers and pry bars and that you also were seen operating the mini excavator without being in the operators seat. I expect a full written report on my desk by next Friday. And don't forget to put in a request with procurement for the tools that will be needed on your next project.

    Was that red Honda GX engine actually seized? Or, was the pump seized? I used to sell Honda small engines. Honda GX engines are very rugged and failures are very rare, assuming decent maintenance.

    I am sure it's the pump, we had that running a couple of years ago. Then when I moved the engine last week water ran out of the hose to the pump. Brian

    Nope Brian could not be quite. He started talking in American sign language for the deaf. I new he could not do it. I know the one time I met him we both had quite the conversation. Mrs. ETR was expecting with Graham. The people I was was left me and went off to do their own thing. Mrs. ETR ended up doing the same.

    You're welcome to come and take a look at my tie puller anytime and try to get it running again! Apparently it ran within the last 10 years.... but they found that the ties were too far gone for it to be useful.

    @@eastterminalrailway5975 I've got bigger problems right now - my Pyke Tie Crane has an issue - we think its the hydraulic motor - when the oil heats up it changes viscosity, and the motors vanes are too chewed up for the thinner oil to drive it. So it won't move forward or reverse with the hotter oil.

    Timelapse is great. Captions are also great/ Talking / narration is okay, if you can keep it to three or four sentences at a time. If you've got a big long channel update or want to get into thoughts and plans, save that for near the end of the video. Can't wait to see all these machines in action.
