Recently, there were testdriving for few reviewers. Almost everyone agreed that it is one of the best drivimg machine existing now.

Define, affordable? The base Ioniq is a $41K car...this will be $55K+. Not exactly stratospheric, but not cheap.

This is by far the most intriguing ev commercial I have seen. I hope that it really does what they say it does. I don't usually like hatchback type cars, but after watching this, I want Ioniq 5 N.

its not a hatchback, yes its very decieving but its actually more closely related to an SUV, the car is big almost as big as a range rover and yet its performance is staggering the regular ioniq 5 is one of the best crossover's on sale to date

Honestly. I would put it up there with the best car commercials of all time. I can't remember the last time a car commercial touched me so deeply that I started to cry. Oh and it's even crazier: I watched this commercial about 5 times already and every time I come back to it, I can't make it to the end of the video without tearing up.

They did well getting mr Biermann. Hyundai did really well with the N division (I bet it’s derived from M other than them saying it’s because of Nürburgring or something - just sounds like German humor to me) I actually don’t care how fast it is around the track as long as it is fun. I don’t know what my next car will be. Until now I thought petrol engine but man I am tempted to try this one. 😊

I never thought someone will be able to convince me to buy an EV... Until now... well done Hyundai!

You'll wait, wait and wait some more before it arrives. Hyundai have a bad supply chain and cannot produce enough vehicles. The regular Ioniq 5 is a fun car to drive ... you don't need to pay more for the N model unless you are actually going to take it to a track.

​@@humanform5354actually, that's the problem... beside the benemoth size of the thing.., the main issue is that everything is a simulation.. a turn, a drift, everything... nothing mechanical is happening.. it is just an algorithm turning an electric motor faster or slower, in relation to what the programmers thought you want to do behind the wheel.

@@eugenux Yes that's right. What's the issue? This is an EV, the only way to get a 'mechanical' feel is to simulate it which is relatively easy to do. If you want a true mechanical feel there's still plenty of manuals. For those who want that feel but with the benefits of an EV, there's this, and the Lexus EV sports car that's coming soon, and definitely plenty more. Many manual drivers I know dislike EVs because it "takes away the skill and connection with a car". Well, here it is, and those drivers still find a way to dislike it. So it doesn't seem like the actual gear-shifting part is the issue...is it just because it's the new thing?

​@@TheHardWay71it is just because the whole driving part is a simulation. A computer, an algorithm, decides the way in which the car turns when you rotate the wheel. It is not you who's controling the car, it is an algorithm doing the driving for you. For a commuting, family car, etc.. sure, as I don't really care; but for a driver's car?, what's the point in having a **driver's car** which is not actually being the *driver's*...what's the point in having such a car. Not to say anything about the bmw x3 size and 2+tons of weight; since when an SUV on dropped springs passes as a sports car?

@@eugenux Well I agree with the last part. I am not sure exactly the extent the IONIQ 5 N will go, but it seems like you can manually shift gears yourself using paddles. If that's too little, then look to Lexus' "Electrified Sport" concept car. That is a car currently in development that fully simulates a manual transmission with an EV. This means the engine will simulate your RPM at every instance in time. How it falls as you're not accelerating, how it climbs when you do, how it jumps when you downshift and how it falls when you upshift. They want to recreate all of the experiences when driving a manual so the DRIVER still has to drive the car. This means things like, the car will stall if you try to start moving without enough RPMs. How you start the car will be different on an incline. The EV software will simulate a power curve; so the car gives better acceleration during certain RPM intervals. And wanna know the best part of an EV manual? They said that you will be able to customize your own, and even download online, your own custom power curves. Like power down low in the RPMs? You can customize that. Like it in the upper RPMs? You could do that too. And as you could probably already tell, it doesn't have paddles, it's got 3 pedals and a stick. Maybe THIS specific car won't give you what you're looking for, but there are EVs coming out that will, like this Lexus. If that doesn't give you the feeling of driving the car, I'm not sure what will. The "simulation" aspect of it only exists to LET you drive the car this way. It's still up to you to get it moving and run it through the gears.

Also they put ETVTC (ELECTRIC TORK VACTERING BY TWIN CLUTCHS) instead of LSD on wheel sharft which can help to drifts with EV ... hyundai's car technology develeopments are another level... not many people know these all the technologies on this increadible car !!!

If the power plant still uses traditional coal for creating electricity for EVs, it still not eco friendly.

Such a powerful trailer. Tesla can't win me over with their EVs, but Hyundai... you have captured the hearts of many car enthusiasts. Two things this should achieve that every owner wants. When you walk away you look back at the Car and when you sit in it you grin. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Well Hyundai smashing out the park and I’ve never owned or driven the mark.

This thing looks good, sounds good (at least with the Ignition mode of N Active Sound+), and is really, really fast. I absolutely LOVE IT!!! THANK YOU HYUNDAI! We finally have an ENTHUSIASTS' EV!!!! IONIQ 5 N is still in prototype stage. Professional drivers on closed courses. Do not attempt. IONIQ 6 N still to come.

@@johnsmith1034 The words have many meanings. (1) Hyundai provides many reasonable car, so 40% of Korean are owning the vehicle nowadays. It was dream, the owning a car in Korea since people were poor after war. (2) I can choose the immobilizer or driver assist system with reasonable price even it's the cheapest car of Hyundai. I think the Namyang's men struggled for this. It's not easy. (3) 70k MSRP? It's not official price yet maybe, but what can I buy instead of this..?

I think this is the first electric car I would actually like to have as a sports car, would really like to test it.

This car feels like a complete game changer for the EV. Something that is trying to replicate and preserve those things that make driving an ICE-driven machine so special. I'm so happy to see a manufacturer undertaking such a project and unapologetically leaning into those things that make driving so special to those who love it.

I think if you drive slow on eco it will probably have a much better range. And on track the car needs to cool down anyway at some point so range isn't a major issue there either I think. Also don't forget that Hyundai has the highest range of all EV's besides a few handful millionaire cars. So they have the technology.

Did anyone see how these performed at Goodwood festival of Speed? It was one of the highlights for sure

Well done Hyundai's N division. This shows that driving enjoyment doesn't necessarily mean there has to be an actual engine and transmission to have fun

Currently driving an Hyundai i30 N Fastback from 2023 I really like the Ioniq 5 N. The sound, the looks (hopefully matte paint is an option) and the pure appearance. Stunning. I'm really looking forward to this vehicle. I drove the "normal" Ioniq 5 which already had a lot of punch when putting the pedal to the metal but this must feel insane, especially with those "shifts"

Have been driving the I5 since launch. I think it is time to get onto the "N" train😊
