Hyundai Elantra N DCT - Launch Control & NGS PLUS 0-60 Times!

Музыка

In today's video I go over launch control. I demonstrate how to properly engage launch control in my Hyundai Elantra N and then perform some 0-60 acceleration tests. Can we break 5 seconds?? Hope you enjoy!

    Agreed yes I found the lower rpms got me better hook up. This gentleman has aftermarket tires that I think are a little bit harder than the factory tires. The factory tires are very soft and have great grip but they are like erasers. They don't last long, And they are stupid expensive.

    As a loooong time FWD drag racer, record holder several time with several platforms etc etc I have to totally agree with you. 3000rpm was not enough to keep the turbo on boil. I was going to say 3500rpm based on this video as well. With more tire, 4000rpm all day. While you don't want to blow the tires off, light wheelspin is actually much quicker than a bog. Same for light wheel chatter - not tooth loosening wheel hop - along with that light tire spin, The car obviously needs more tires. Both in size (If it can fit without major hacking) and compound. Perhaps a nice set of drag radials. 😁

  • @jimmyjohnson7883

    @@JViello I was thinking to at least lower tire pressure or get a drag radial or atleast R888's for the front. Then bump the launch up to atleast 3800. It would be interesting to see what these do with and intake, downpipe and exhaust, drag radials, the seats and the spare tire out as well as a tune and meth or e85.

  • @JViello

    @JViello

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@jimmyjohnson7883 Oh heck yeah...just dropping pressure will help...but unfortunately with no sidewall not as much as you might think, same with a little burnout to heat them up. Nothing crazy, just a little something to heat them up. With a good drag radial, you're probably looking at 4500rpm if it'll go that high. With slicks in high power cars I'm dumping the clutch at 6,000-7,000rpm all day. If this car has a close coupled cat, a downpipe will make a big difference. Cats hanging off the turbine outlets just kills the fun. E85 is another planet! Seriously, like forget it...You can get soooo aggressive with the tune on E. That helps when you are close to running out of turbo because you can find a lot of power on E in the tune compared to pump gas. Best thing that ever happened to turbo cars! LOL

  • @nelsonvanvickle8862
    @nelsonvanvickle8862 Жыл бұрын

    Using LC in my GLI is a simple matter of dropping the tranny into Sport or Manual, depressing the brakes, revving the engine up above 2000 RPMs and dumping it. Heat soaking is only an issue if I launch the car multiple times in a short period, but I can register sub-five second 0-60 times fairly consistently. With nothing more than a stage 1 low torque tune and no other mods except for summer tires my best time is 4.5 sec. But these N’s are no joke fast cars. Hyundai is killing it lately. Modded they’ve got to be genuinely scary.
