Nice work I never really work on heat pumps in New York/Jersey. I understand the systems though. Mostly gas furnaces or boilers. Easy service calls are nice, it just sucks driving to them over here. Lol. You do good work man.

It was actually a little older than that. If you were looking at the serial number it is not read like some of the other ones. I think these machines were around 8-10 years old.

Yep, but according to karma I will have a reversing valve to change out because of this call.

How long should it be in defrost mode ?

It varies depending on defrost type and conditions. Usually I seen them last 1-3 minutes

I work on roof top units up to 20 ton and other kitchen equipment .Quickly what refrigerant's are you guys retrofitting R22 a/c with?

I have seen R422D, R438A, and 422B. I carry R438A, but do not use it very often.

Those are not available in Jamaica. We still have R22,but it is scheduled to be phase out by 2015.

We have many more, but it gets confusing. R407C is the best they say, but you need to change to POE.

E Campbell I know this is old but we are using 421a,can keep the same oil,i change the filter dryer with it,and they recommend going up a size in piston or your head pressure will run higher than r22
