WOW...Your Mum is just terrific. I truly have no idea how she did it. She just went up there, opened her mouth and sang, as one of my favorite mezzos says. Beautiful tone, fullness of sound, just marvelous. As I've said before, I love Il Trovatore...I love Verdi💙💙❤❤

I would consider this sort of scenario terrifying. I have no idea how ANYone deals with being thrown into the deep end like this.

A wonderful moment in history!!!!

Saw this and Bergonzi and Rita were on top form. Budai and Bordoni certainly kept their end up.Also there was a stage hands strike and some performances were staged with black drapes and some props. Arroyo was having terrible back pain at the time.

Oh so wonderfully Rita! What the World probably doesn't know is that within 5 years of this recording, your Mum migrated to Australia, sang with the National company in the approx 1500 seat Opera house theatre, and after a few years was dropped by the Company. She was trapped in a new Country where her talent was not worshipped as it was in the rest of the World, and this incredible voice, this kind woman with such talent, used to filling a 4000 seat theatre with her voice had to give singing lessons to make an income. How must she have felt?

As her daughter, I can confirm this to be true. Sad state of affairs but true nonetheless. The strain that it put on us as a family was huge and it is pain that I am reliving now whilst going through her archives. I thank you for saying what has never been said but.....it needed to be said

@@johncubbidge2237 Oh golly no dear. What overwhelmed me was that someone else said it, and not me. It is something that I have carried for a long time. I admit that I had deadened it whilst in my 20 year grief stupor and I admit that it has only come back to the forefront of my mind recently (because of paperwork that I have come across that is written in my Mother's handwriting). So THIS part of the past cropped up before you said anything. What made its' way into my heart was that someone, other than me, noticed that this is what happened. I think Mother went to her grave thinking that no one noticed and I wish I could tell her that she was wrong. People did notice. It is a very strange balance over here with me, emotionally. Depression and anxiety is a very strange thing to carry around. BUT!!!! I greet it head on and try to deal with it as best I can. It takes a while but I do get there in the end. As for keeping the secret. I will.....for now

I know how to read my analytics and my videos are getting viewed and I am getting subscribers. I am not interested in growing my channel the way that you would propose.
