So, we no longer need an FSC card living here in CA. The old bill is gone, and they only want NEW incoming people to apply and get the FSC cards …. The rest of us don’t need to anymore, but we are already on a LIST - their list. All they will do now is just add the new comers and that adds to their LIST anyway. We still get and got F@(#’D !!! Did I get that right ?? Lol.

Actually, I don’t think anyone enforces the safety certificate. It’s predominantly required during a gun purchase at an FFL gun shop. If expired or don’t have, test ($35) is given on the spot. Done, good for another 5-years! 😃

I must be missing something. It sounds like this bill extends the requirements to have an FSC. Where is the Huge win exactly?

I believe this is what is going to happen if SB1253 is passed. 1) Out-of-state gun owners moving into California will sue as this might be a violation of equal protection under the law in the U.S. Constitution as it creates two classes of citizens in the state, one subject to this restriction on their 2nd Amendment rights and another that is not. 2) If this law is found to be constitutional, the legislators will try to expand it by stating the grandfather clause was a loophole that has to be closed. Gun owners who are original California residents will then be subject to this law like new California residents.

All that red means they were trying to see if anything sticks or just a guessing game which they eliminated.
