So non-residents will be able to carry, but residents can carry only when given permission by Newsom. When does this nonsense in CA end? Why isn't there a path for the SCOTUS to rule definitively for the entire nation and remove the circuit courts and states ability to override constitutional law?

As of January 2024, California became a "shall issue" state. You need to go through a safety class, but after that they have to give you a CCW now (with exceptions for the usual stuff; felons, mentally ill, domestic violence, etc).

It would help, but lets be real, if somebody did try to defend themselves against a criminal, the criminal won't be the one going to jail, assuming they survive the encounter. Remember, this is the state that's saying that store employees and even store security aren't allowed to stop shoplifters. Un p in the bay area, there's a city supervisor who passed or wanted to apss an ordinance that armed security couldn't draw their weapon in cases of property theft. This is a state where "it's just stuff" is a common refrain when home defense against burglars is discussed and mentioned as a reason for owning a gun.

I'm a truck driver, been to comifornia many times, to my recollection they have an actual border station coming in to the state

I’ve often wondered why my ability to purchase a firearm is restricted to the state I live in when a “federal” background check is required in every state. 🤔

So, another lawsuit to throw on the pile of other lawsuits in the maze of judgements , appeals , re directs that bounce from one court to another for years and years and years and are never settled.

So since AZ allows open carry why isn't this included?

This will be interesting to see the outcome. Problem is, the 9th does not care about our constitutional rights. No way will they rule in favor of plaintiffs.

If qualified, carry a HR 218 certification. This makes LEOs confused. LEOSA are exceptions.

A California resident can with a permit. And in most counties, a resident can get a permit. A California permit is valid and recognizing in 27 states.

But there are other states that do recognize a California permit. And they are, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin

The Supreme Court needs to start charging States that enact laws that are ultimately found unconstitutional for all legal costs incurred by the Plantiffs, AND the Court, going back to the day the first legal action was taken. We award actual and punitive damages in Civil cases, why not in these types as well?

We need to hear legal means to better deal with Newsom and his antics.

Dude I live in California and how do you think I feel? I'm working on joining a lawsuit where departments are conducting "quiet rejection" on request for concealed permits. Multiple people including me have no reason to not have a concealed weapon but we are rejected because after giving everything that they've wanted for the check we then find out that they wanted something else they just never told us so it was rejected.

Can you imagine if this gets ruled on in favor of FPC? If states are constitutional carry, ca residents will have a case that they can have constitutional carry themselves if others can carry in their state! This is awesome.

FPC should also add to that lawsuit that a non-resident of California can not purchase ammo in the state.
