It will be better if we can connect to Desktop Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse using Bluetooth (without cable)

Its already there..just check maruOS...its custom rom that can do that..just ask your device developer to compile it to your device or compile it by your self...😁

How do you open it in the desktop chrome? I don't mean the desktop site for the singular page.. I mean for chrome entirely.. my new tabs open are like in android phone (click tab number then clicking '+' sign, instead of multiple tabs on top of the bar

Hi Ben Just wanted to point out though, the Samsung Note 9 doesn't need a DeX station - its basically the same, you can plug it straight in to a monitor and it will become a desktop PC Great video, keep it going!

At the time sex needed a docking station I think. Now Huawei can do it through mhl/Miracast wirelessly and Samsung cannot

Samsung dex can even support 4k displays. Obviously that huawei thing is a copied tech from samsung

Didn't expect this actually support those keyboard and mouse.

Would love to know if any video editing apps will work in this mode and... If the phone will overheat or the screen turned off while in desktop mode. Would be great for simple video editing on the go

So you had to purchase a hub to do the same thing. The point of the DeX is to give you a complete solution so that you don't have to add a hub. It is the hub. It also allows Ethernet connections and charges the device. It's also a quick plug and play solution. Not saying the DeX is the best solution, but it is a comprehensive solution that does what you are doing and more.

Can it run a limited set of apps? Dex had the issue that some apps need work around to get fullscreen. But Dex allows to cool the CPU with the fan for sustained performance.

Kurt C I am interested as well. Mate 10 should support display port 1.2 standard which can do 4K 60fps. Question is does mate 10 allow you go that high? It was kind sad when Samsung anounced DEX and then limit it to 1080p. Many people like me have 4k today already, as it is not much more expensive than 1080p screen anymore. I do not want to have giant 1080p icons on my 4k monitor.

well it's dirt cheap already cuz it's not much more expensive to make in the first place .. AND there is not alot content yet in 4k, we're going there (obviously) but we're not quite there yet :)

Ahmed Sanad I would recommend ZEROSKY adapters as they can cover both Samsung and Huawei devices for desktop mode. It is even compatible for the Nintendo Switch. Easy tag terms on amazon or eBay... Dex; type-c to hdmi; Samsung to hdmi I hope this helps. (usually huawei is mentioned also under compatibility)

Unfortunately this will not counter the stigma attached to having a Chinese phone. Ironic considering most phones are put together in China.

brandon johnson there's nothing wrong with Chinese phones. The only real problem is that unlike these companies like Samsung who dapple in the western market too, huawei is left hanging in the east. So when something goes wrong with your device, you will have to sell an arm and a leg to get it fixed. Support is almost non existent in the western market. And another thing that I ran into when trying to fix a friend's p8 lite. There are no proper adb tools so you can't flash firmware like you would on a Sony or Samsung device. The update firmware was corrupt so I couldn't fix the p8 lite. End of rant.

Well this feature already available to old phone that can support mhl cable. But nowadays, manufacture not support mhl, thus abandoning this feature.
