I think that the mate 10 pro being compared to a way more expensive device makes it win already!

iPhone X is $1350 in my country while the Mate 10 Pro costs $870. I'd choose to save $500

Zilong Zhan he won’t pick the iPhone X even if it was the same price of the 10 Pro just because it runs on iOS. That’s why I said that he’s not saving anything. He technically picked the best Android smartphone in the market with rich exclusive features that are similar to the iPhone X & razer phone.

Desktop mode and battery life is great on Mate 10 pro. Also, camera is great.

Have been using the Mate 10 pro and the battery life is way better than anything Apple has, which I think is the single biggest factor for any phone. Doesn't matter how great the other features are, if you run out of juice then none of those things matter

Bushangels Face ID isn’t a gimmick, try it and you’ll get used to it. It’s fast and intuitive and will likely replace Touch ID in 2019 if in screen fingerprint scanners don’t come out soon enough

I like the regular Mate 10 a lot better than the Pro version. 3.5mm jack, SD Card slot (hybrid SIM), rear mounted fingerprint sensor, regular 16:9 aspect ratio display, etc.

Shit! IPhone X is nowhere near Mate 10 Pro, which is far superior in terms of everyday usage capabilities like the infrared blaster. I have a home theatre system and I control all the units with Mate 10 Pro. Desktop feature is excellent. I spent more time on this over my notebook. Shots taken by Leica dual camera truly stunning after tweaking some of the options because out the box options are kind of basic. And now the best part, backing up your data is so darn easy and lightning fast and it's done in minutes and encrypted too! Giving up on all these features for a face detection and animoji and I got to pay more ?! Fuck no!

The problem I have with the iPhone and the majority of flagships is that they are all overcharging for their products. When someone going to really get it right and point out the fact that the emporer has no clothes. Too many reviews all point to how grand these phones are and creating the idea that paying $900-$1000 (even $700-800), even though expensive, is acceptable. It isn't!

Nice review, thank you. I noticed you hand a Project Fi signal with the Mate 10 Pro. Did all features of that carrier work with that phone? Did you h e to do anything special to get Fi running on that phone?

I had the Mate 9 last year and I loved the outcome of the photos. Compared to the iPhone, the shots always came out more crisp and remarkably perfect. I have the iPhone 7 Plus and was thinking about switching to IPhone 10 but the price deterred me. Might have to get the Huawei phone before it’s really discontinued in the U.S. Great review!!

Thanks for talking about the monochrome sensor. Noise cancellation, cell tower handover, signal strength, radio bands would be good if not essential to mention in a phone review

Good review , I've had the mate10 pro since launch and it's utterly outstanding, don't think we have stabilization on 4k tho but no Biggie, it makes up for it in other areas , u mention battery lasting 1 day like that's an achievement lol .. my mate 10 easily does 2 days no sweat on its 4000 batt , hopefully it will stay fast as it promises during its life , has many guesture tricks also that you didn't cover . Can't recommend it enough

Good comparison Danny! In the UK you can currently get 2x Mate 10 Pros for the price of the 256gb iPhone X. Insane how close they are. Mate 10 Pro = £529.99 in Carphone Warehouse iPhone X 256gb = £1149 pretty much everywhere.

Huawei. Had a Mate 7, now a mate 9 and I'll stick with Huawei for the foreseeable future. Extremely disappointed about the lack of jack on the 10 though. The IR blaster is amazingly handy. I thought it was a gimmick at first but I was totally wrong :x Face-ID I couldn't care less about honestly. Finger scanners are awesome especially on the back of the phone.

My Mate7 had bad support, but my Mate9 has had 3 or 4 updates in the last 2 months, so no complaints. Downside of everything Android though is shorter software support =/

Nice review Danny. Huawei mate 10 is a great device if you can live past the skinned version of the OS. I am currently using iphone 7 but i wish these manufacturers like Samsung and huawei would make phones with less skinned version of Android (like what sony does)

Huawei also has face recognition too. I don't use it though. A year into this phone it is still absolutely brilliant. First time ever on a 24 month contract I love my phone as much as when I first got it. I haven't had any problems at all with this phone and battery is incredible. Both charging and how long it lasts. I get over a day on Huawei even a year later. I use my phone all day.

Wait a year and I bought the Mate 10 pro for £400. A bargain. This was a reassuring video for my buy. Having used it for 6 months it's a fantastic phone. Love the camera and it's document scan.

Good review Danny. So many good phones on the market this year , both cameras look good as do the phones, But i don't see either of those devices worthy of a change from my S8+(exynos) ......... except perhaps the finger print reader on the pro kills sammys effort 😣, I'm a headphone jack and an sd card in front over both devices , (and wireless charging over the pro as well) without even trying :). Even if i was an iphone dude ........ the notch would piss me off , and i also prefer a fingerprint reader over gestures ....... give me buttons .. Progress is not always progress !

23 hours since I charged my Huawei mate 10 pro and used a lot trough the day, still 58% battery left. Surfing on Facebook and internet draws nothing power but Facebook is more hungry. Love it 😍

BTW I never wanted monochrome but after having it I really like it, the resolution is actually much better and the quality is great. The color camera is also great for taking pictures in the dark. Had to take a picture bumping up the iso to 6 or 800 and shutters peed 1/60 and the picture is very crisp and no typical grains you get from high iso. I like it a lot

I am surprised how people are getting used to that top-notch of iphone X ! I can't accept that, even if I try. if any other OEM did such a thing then every youtuber in the world would bash them even called it a gate case or at least a major design flaw especially in that price ! in fact I am not an iPhone user, but still been disappointed bcus it's the first time I was thinking about trying it mainly for the swipe gestures.

Nice review, I've been using IOS & Samsung for a while now. Time to switch it up..

I prefer the way the pictures come out on the Mate 10 Pro by a ton. The OIS on the iPhone seemed like it did a better job. Huawei is making a pretty good noise on the smartphone industry and they show no signs of slowing down.

Great review, thoroughly enjoyed it. I am using Huawei mate 10 pro, and it's one of best phone ever I've used, Cameras are great. If you're looking for great camera phone with high specs, in my own experience, go for Huawei mate 10 pro and LG V30.

the normal Mate 10 should have been compared. Better in every way expect the IP67 rating. Better screen resolution, expandable storage, and headphone jack. great content

I use the Huawei mate 9 for 1 year now, and it's still super fast with great battery life, even after 1 year. And that fast charging is so good when you need your phone but you forget to charge at night... So i had choose the Huawei mate 10 pro.

Danny please also do comparison b/w galaxy note 8 vs mate 10 pro and i phone X vs galaxy note 8.

In order to use the desktop mode on Mate 10 pro, do you need a 5V-DC external power source? Ty!

Danny if I zoom in with mono crome on the mate pro..will I get better picture s when I crop them? Compared to the 12 mega Pixel sensor..I had the lgv10 upgraded to v20 and the zoom was horrible I rarely see anyone doing a zoom in picture quality comparisons on phones drivese nuts....

Enable power saving mode on the mate 10.. Feel no performance issue since when the load is heavy it will bump up the processor speed, getting 6-8 hours pretty easy..

Huawei delivers as always. What i love the most is that huawei never makes a new phone unless there are enough good upgrades worth upgrading too while apple and samsung for example slightly change better camera and add new apps etc that no one use and call it a new phone. Huawei cares and understand this and respects this thats why I'll go for Huawei. Plus the mate 10 pro has so much better techs than any out there so far.

You can swipe up for Face ID as the screen is lighting up. I never wait until the screen turns on and I see the lock icon. I just raise and swipe. Face ID Is not that slow

Now that you can get the Mate 10 Pro for $550 on amazon, I don't think it's even a contest.

I think the regular Mate 10 and regular iPhone 8 are the better phones, and price wise are much better values.

Mate 10 pro for me, iphones are though to beat but the things you can do with the mate 10 pro are just crazy insane

I think you increased the dosage of drugs you are using more than a NOTCH. Mate is good looking device. Symetrical and organised. Iphone X would've been a beauty without that stupid thing up top and huge camera bump. Still, not a bad looking device.
