Can you use the Desktop mode with audio and video such as in a Skype call?

Thanks for your video, ordered what I needed from Amazon, I also have an S8+ with a Dex unit. I'm going to be interested in how they compare. I did get the $50 adapter as you shown. Have the same logitech combo which I use with the Dex and it works perfect. Ordered another, nice to have a spare just in case.

Extremely helpful! Thanks much. Typing this now on my mate 10 Pro and I was aware of this feature but I have not tried it out yet. I was trying to justify keeping my $199 NuuG3 even though it's laggy and has a terrible camera. But after watching this video I realize all of the benefits of keeping the mate 10 Pro. Thanks again!

Yeah, the Mate 10 Pro is a beast. I have the Nuu G3 coming tomorrow I believe. Hopefully my experience isn't too bad on it.

Great video mate! Just would like to know how some apps perform. Like those with higher demands ( higher than word processing) like for example can you play youtube through chrome or is the youtube app working with no problems? Is the desktop experience fast or it's laggy? Thank you! ;)

Extra question: won't the bigger one possibly strain the out of the box charger, in terms of supply? Should one consider grabbing a dedicated charger system (say, smth from Anker) instead?

Mate 10 pro user here. I'm on desktop mode wireless projection, it's connected to my smart tv, I want to type something say for example im in chrome and i dont wanna use my phone's touch pad as keyboard coz it's very annoying. Is there an external keyboard and mouse i can use? Will it work? Pls help

Very similar to be honest. It's basically a Chromebook with higher end specs.

It's a solid device, especially since you can get it for so cheap now. My biggest issue with it is the software. LeEco puts a pretty heavy skin on top of Android. One other thing to keep in mind is that it's pretty unlikely to be supported into the future.

If you cast it you can only get the "phone mode." To get the "desktop mode" pretty much need a Type C adaptor (otherwise you are stuck with using just the phone to navigate and as a keyboard). It can be done that way if you just want to use it for watching videos and playing games though.

Never mind, I got it to work, just to make sure it wasn't faulty equipment I tried it on my Chromebook which worked, then switched to my powered adaptor, with kb and it came up. I have a three way hdmi splitter whcih I use with my computer, dex unit and now the powered hub. Seems fine now. Again thanks for your video.

No, it will just run Android Apps, but Fortnite is coming to Android.

Mine doesn't go full screen while in desktop mode. In phone mode there is little lag. Any tips?

Imagine if Apple would make a solution like this. 200 dollars får the USB dongle, 100 dollars for the mouse, 100 dollars for the keyboard. The face you make when you realize that you can't import files from your USB memory? Priceless!
