**DarkKnight ** The funny part is the reviewer has actually tried the phone, while most of the comment section hasn't. You are just some fanboys of a mediocre phone's marketing campaign. In Europe A LOT of people have Huaweis, if not this particular phone, and the interface is so terribly ugly, clunky and poorly designed that no fucking AI chip will make you want to use this phone.

I don't see what's weird with the camera layout. It's unique. I don't see why you didn't mention that it's huawei's in-house chipset. Kirin 970. I don't see why you didn't mention abt it's AI capabilities. I don't see why you why you didn't talk abt that desktop mode which doesn't require a dock like samsung. Yes the pixel has a great camera but google wants you to use what it has given you out of the box. No extra features like a pro mode. And you frgt to mention the dual speakers. Always been a fan of your videos but this was just rushed and kind of a "meh" review.

People with film and DSLR experience will prefer Huawei/Leica's approach to the camera. No over-processed images. It gives room for a lot of manual control and post grading.

I'm having also tons of dslr experience, but still don't like picture quality. Yes there is a RAW format and tons of options. But in most cases i want to point and shoot and expect to have a really decent photo that isn't requiring tons of editing. 10 pro doesn't provide me that confidence, i don't trust him. Regreting each day how come Huawei didn't provided better camera software (algorithm). I find it very bad during low light almost without details and some crazy over sharpening with halo effects during day. Last but not least, selfie camera (bad as hell). This is my review after owning one for 6 months. Regards

Mr Yousif i do respect your opinion. Again, this phone is not for everyone. The question you ask is similar to the question, why would someone pay more for iPhone 8 because its almost the same as iPhone 7 or why pay more on a note 8 when s8+ is a better option. People have different opinions just like you do. For me, i will take a mate 10 over one plus 5t. I use a Huawei P10 and i don't find emui to be a problem. Infact i like it to be honest. Since i did not like the home screen and its customization i decided to go for Nova prime. I don't know whats all the fuss about AI but i like to have that desktop mode, amazing cameras (love the monochrome lens), good battery life, ip67 feature, 128gb disk space and the design on the mate 10. For that i will spend $800 on that phone. There, that's why someone will spend $800 on a mate 10.

When he says " I'll stick with one of the big players" and you know that Huawei already is a big player but sadly USA hasn't caught on yet, smh.

Yeah, i actually liked it as well and if i'm not wrong he is the only tech youtuber who disliked the looks of this device from the back. I personally really like the accent they have given to the cameras, it makes it stand out and looks great. For me Huawei already cracked the design part, they have a really good looking design which is quite unique in my opinion. But they need to get the software part right, it works in China to have an iOS like skin as most manufacturers does that there, but in the global market, it's not a good way to go. I make tech videos in a unique style. If you can spare some free time please do give my channel a look.

Wow, I don't know what happened to you, but unlike your other quality reviews this one is straight up *horrible* . You got tons of facts wrong and you seem to be trying too hard to point out as many cons as you can while not mentioning about many of key features this phone has. Speaker is not just bottom firing, it is stereo/dual speaker setup with bottom one playing bass and earpiece taking care of high frequency sound. That's why sound was still leaking out when you covered the bottom speaker. NOT because your mic was "too good". The camera on this thing is great, but you dismiss it like it's just an OK camera just because it performs slightly worse than Pixel 2 XL in Auto mode. Does your Pixel 2 XL have easily-accessible manual mode? Light painting? Night Mode? Can it capture photos in monochrome(which, by the way, you also didn't mention at all in this video for some reason)? You said Pixel 2 XL shoots better portrait photos, but how so? I mean, in what specific way? All those lack of explanations just annoyed me to the level that I couldn't take your opinion seriously at this point. And it was also disappointed that you didn't even talk about its video performance. MrMobile said it was better than Pixel 2 XL when shooting video in low-light, producing much less noise while offering the same level of stabilisation but surprisingly you didn't say any word for video. I also disagree with you for the software part. You can enable the app drawer from the settings menu. Sharing menu in Gallery app looks like it's from iOS... and? Is it a good thing or bad thing? If it works without any problems, then why complain about it. Though the worst part was when you mentioned HTC and LG as "established players"... WHAT? Since when??? They are going downfall and becoming some random mess which literally nobody gives a damn about while Huawei, despite already being a significantly larger smartphone manufacturer than both companies, is still growing rapidly. Why do I want this over HTC U11 or LG V30? Well, first of all this thing has got better camera and battery life than either of those devices. Also U11 looks plain ugly with massive bezels while V30 has horrible display so they won't be an option for me. Even though I prefer the regular Mate 10 over the Pro, if I was told to buy one of those 3 devices, it would easily be Mate 10 Pro. Finally, you didn't even say a single word on AI and NPU and how they work when literally everybody else does. I don't understand why you decided to skip those parts, as they are probably the most eye-catching features found on this phone.

Thank you for posting this! I've made quite a few comments here that I didn't expect to make. I actually consider MKBHD to be a solid reviewer usually. Not necessarily as in depth as I would always like, but usually spot on and focused on what needs to be focused on. I realize reviewers are often rushed, especially someone as well established as him. But you gotta put in the work. I also realize most, if not all reviewers have their bias. They prefer what they prefer, which I'm fine with. But you gotta give praise where it's justified, and recognize accomplishments when they've been made. Whether people in the world want to admit it, mostly the US, Huawei is practically dominating the tech game right now. And they're doing it with very little US presence. They are here though, and as of right now anyway, will continue to be despite Government protests. To not recognize them as a major player, really does a disservice to their brand and overall accomplishments.

My point exactly. The brand deserves recognition and some commendation. It really is a solid device. How Marques could honestly put this out clearly erodes some of my confidence in him. Huawei phones phones have gotten better over the years. I started with the Mate 7 and loved it for close to 3 years (longest I have ever used a phone) and will definitely upgrade to regular Mate 10 soon.

Got my first Huawei today at a Vodafone store in the UK. They recommended it over iPhones and Galaxy's and I am sooo impressed!!!! Saved me a ton of money plus my 15% discount for working in a certain sector. I have got myself an amazing phone at an amazing price!!!!

Got this phone because of the insane battery life and camera. Wide aperture mode is amazing on this one. And it seems like you didn't check it out carefully as it has alot of features that stand out. There is a wide aperture video also and private space is a great thing to have.

This review is not good. 1st time i say this about a video by mkbhd. I ditched my S8+ for the Mate 10 Pro and I think this is a much better phone. Besides my personal opinion, this review gets a lot of facts wrong and also fails to mention a lot of features. It just does not do the phone justice. No App drawer? This is like saying "the pixel has no 4k recording" when you can simply activate it in settings I get why he would not talk about the AI processor so much since i belive this is mainly marketing but CPU and a lot of other basic smartphone facts/features/specs are mentioned in every review but not in this one. The camera is amazing, maybe it doesnt do as good as the pixel when point and shoot but there are so many modes and pro settings to adjust that weigh up for it. You say the software in this camera limits the hardware? I disagree, the pixel pretty much only delivers hdr and portrait mode, the Mate 10 has so many more features. During night time it really shines. First i thought the same: Photos are good but not as good as my S8+ but after using this cam a while you learn how to use it and it makes exceptional photos. PS: Huawei is the third biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world. They developed the Google Nexus 6p. They are everywhere except North America. Here in Europe they took over roughly 4 years ago.

I watched this video within the first hour of upload. Back then all comments were 100% "omg I love MKBHD", so I waited with responding. I agree with everything you say. I purchased a S8+ the start of this year and disliked it so much (slowed down incredibly, battery drainage and hate curved edges) I decided to trade it in for the Huawei Mate 10 Pro on release. Not only was it significantly cheaper. It's miles ahead. The camera is a LOT better, the screen is flat and gorgeous, but most of all: The phone is super fast and lasts at least all day! This phone beats the S8+ on everything except the headphone jack, which I don't care about. I really disliked this "review" and wish Marques would have been a little more lenient with things that are easily changeable in settings to not have them weight in as much. My Mate 10 Pro's photos absolutely outperform the S8+. Did you enable HDR on the Mate 10 Pro?

Like great camera, good pro mode on camera and some more. Also this phone has Kirin CPU, never mentioned in video. This review covered no side of Mate 10 Pro. Sorry for broken English BTW

b hey there I got that phone now like two month charging time is about 1 - 1 and half hours from 0 to 100% (: If you take the battery time in video ( KZread or Netflix time) it lasts way over 6 hours I mean It never died on me while watching videos or playing games on it (: I hope it helped you a bit.... i have mate 10pro for like 6 months. I agree with everything that Douglas wrote (good sides). Ones that you may/not like are (my opinion): -camera that requires a lot more tweaking to take out best photo out that phone (trying few camera mods on same scene) compare it on pc, etc -video is not key point of this phone at all, its 50-50 sometimes great sometimes a bit worse -selfie camera is not that great, tends to beautify face a lot even when disabled -audio in general is great and loud stereo (youtube, all the media) but when playing own video you took with 10 pro its ugly low volume even maxed out even on pc My verdict, its a definitely great, fast and 2 day phone. Cameras are not the strongest points on this phone tho you get tons of manual controls/modes and options, for my eye they are a bit behind other brands. Probably 9 out of 10 users wont spot such differences in details, but since i'm into photography for years (dslr, photoshop and such) I confirm that. Regards

@@Unan1mouz i meant that camera is not consistent like Huawei claims (AI scenes). Camera usually recognize scene very well, but applies sometimes over sharpening, over saturating, or some weird shit that doesn't look pleasant to me (im aiming toward natural look). Huawei claims 9.0 will have option to turn off AI completely so I'm looking forward to it. My tweaking means I have to jump into photoshop alot to tweak it to my likings + i don't always wanna/have time to jump into PRO mode. About low light. Nothing special really, lacks detail, due to heavy noise reduction, SAMSUNG is better in that field for sure. 2-3-4 cameras are gimmick just look what Pixel doing with just one and amazing software. Huawei have only name Leica inside is some cheap china lens and half-finished software (for me). Look around youtube for details (tearing it apart). Regards. Yes i think s8, s9 are better camera phones, not always but in 99% and that's what matter that you have confidence. Regards

watching this on my pro 10. I have Fe 20 and now s22 ultra and still this phone is killing it. 4 years later battery works great, i am at this moment in sauna and writing this and my pro 10 doesn't mind. best 800€ i have ever spend on a phone. 10/10

After turning the app drawer on. Emui is growing on me and I find myself liking this different approach on Android device. Having the exact same device as everyone else is a bit boring.

I am surprised MKBHD doesn't show shit about Huawei, how popular it is across the continents, how solid the brand is. Disappointing.

So much hate for Huawei. I don't understand this review. You missed a lot of key points too!

Isnt the speakers of this phone stereo speakers like in iPhones? And the one about the app drawer can be enabled in the settings of emui? There wasnt even a mention of its fast charging thats on par with dash charging even though this has a 4000mah battery :/. This also scores 97 in dxomark which is 1 less from pixel 2's 98 dxomark. I can say that this looks the best out of other smartphones in terms of looks. Maybe its a matter of perspective on the reviewer especially the software side. I wont say the review was bad, but I felt that it missed some major points that undermined the value of the phone.

I got this phone in blue, and I love it! I got tired of the boring and lacking stock Android on my Nexus 6P, so EMUI was a welcome change. And with the top of the line battery life, 6GB ram, 128GB storage, what more can you ask for? Huawei is the only brand I will buy phones from, as I'm tired to death of Samsund, LG and the other big brands. ( And by the way, you can change the iPhone-like home menu to a normal one with an app drawer in the settings, and you can also make it so that double-tapping volume down only opens the camera in stead of taking a picture in the camera apps settings.)

Huawei has surpassed Apple as the world’s second-largest smartphone brand. and still not a "big" brand. I used my P9 for the last two years and it has been great. And I am not a very careful user. I've dropped it a million times. Splashed water. Poor Charging. Filling it up with apps and photos. Still, it works great! I think Huawei deserves more credit.

Péter Friedrich the problem is availability of htc u11+ i have been waiting for it for a long time. But its still not available in my country. By the time it is available there will be a ton of phones with all the new gimmick. SAD!

Availabity is a problem with a lot of phones, maybe except iPhones. I really liked the Moto X, but it was never sold in my country, like a lot of great Motorola phones.

R X actually Huawei can't hold 🕯️ to htc in terms of durability and reliability. If you broke M8, stay away from Huawei.

I never understand why companies use design cues from iOS. I have an iPhone, and even I think that half the stuff Apple does really isn’t that smart at all. Stock Android is clean as all hell, and I can’t wait to go back to it. So I’m not sure what the Mate 10 is trying to do here

For the longest time, Apple was the standard for having a 'clean interface', from iOs, to Mac OS, to their website. I guess some people, namely Chinese tech companies, still cling to that.

ENDESGA I used an iPhone for a while and I switched to a Honor 8 (Honor=Huawei if you didn't know it) And I would say that EMUI only take smart things of iOS and good things of Android. I love this software and it beats Samsung's one if you compare the optimization

Features he forgot: Changing the focus after taking the picture. Phone has 4 cameras that saves spatial details. This lists you refocus saved photos. Beauty mode where it identifies subject and enhance based on database of features. This is why it can identify the subject quickly

I'm a bit disappointed. I feel you missed so much; like you did this in a hurry or because some fans asked you to do it but not because you really wanted to do it. You should really give it a full try because Huawei has SO MANY OPTIONS that it can get complicated to get the max out of it. Seems like your focusing only in the popular phones and not doing real reviews of the things you can get in the market. That would keep you as a good reviewer of the top favorites but not as a good neutral reviewer of the options for everyone that I think you used to be.

I find it funny people are only noticing this now about MKBHD. More on your 4th sentence, to extend to even Sony, look into when his last sony flagship phone review was lol. This guy isn't into innovations or companies that don't pay him. He's into what everybody's into typically like a sycophant. That's why he's all about Tesla, Apple. He's the type of people that easily buy into societal cults because that means you're "cool" and "in" with society or some such crap.

Connecting mate 10 pro directly to a TV is not a something you can skip in a review. Anyhow phone is great, it's priced 650$ for the 64gb and 700$ for 128gb in Asia. 800$ is a high price for your first phone in US.

Huawei will be the top seller in years to come. Their phones are pretty good. Im using one myself

I am a big fan of yours, but your review on this occasion is devoid of a lot of detail that phone actually offers. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a very premium phone from a "big-player" company in the same class as those that offer the Google Pixel 2 XL, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 or the iPhone X. In many ways it's actually better than the iPhone X, and for a fraction of the cost!! You should have taken time to actually go through this phone before reviewing it. I am surprised; must have been a bad day...

First of all - i like your videos, so take this not as hate, but as opinion. But let me give you few examples where are you wrong or making understatement. 1. Huawei isn't popular just in "asian" markets, they are almost in every EU country in TOP3. So basically they are popular everywhere in ASIA and Europe, so the only market that they are missing is US. They are second largest phone manufacturer in the world. 2. Comparing it to HTC is really impressive move, because HTC marketshare in global scale is basically non-existent, if i'm looking at correct numbers they aren't even in TOP5 in US. So impressive to compare second largest manufacturer in the world to the basically underdog and said that HTC is well established. Well done. 3. That "average" loudspeaker is in fact stereo speakers, the earpiece is used as secondary speaker, more like iPhone or HTC (not Samsung). It's actually pretty solid, basically lot better than Samsung S8 or Note 8 series. 4. About the "pretty" good photos. Mate 10 Pro is one of the phone that almost every time tops the chart with one of the best camera. Speaking of Pixel, i do had one to test out and it turns out that the overall picture is good, but if you pixel peep it's overprocessed, oversharpened and looks "too good" to be truth, in fact it's eye catching, but certainly not the best camera out there. Not saying that the Mate 10 Pro is the best at all, but the pictures are more true to life, looks more natural, sometimes the image processing seems to turn out more noisy, but that was same with P10 or P9, seems like Leica isn't scare of noise and in fact if it's natural, i don't mind too. 5. Your homescreen CAN have app drawer, you can enable that in settings. 6. As for the software part - i'm not the biggest fan of EMUI but also i'm not a big fan of stock Android. Because of that i'm somewhere in the middle and it's fair to say it's pretty speed, fast and bug free software experience, it works great and have great feature. As always you can of course change the launcher and it's pain free. 7. The camera app is solid, i would say easy, well organized it gets the job done. The mode for low-light settings are good, you can lock just the ISO or shutterspeed. Entering the Pro mode is easy, so you can quickly adjust your pictures. I would say much better than "stock Android experience". 8. Stick with "one of the big players" - like HTC or LG? Look at the numbers, they aren't big players at all, if you compare them to Huawei. With no offence this feels like poor use of review words. It also feels like you didn't test that phone out. And also as tech KZreadr, you should probably know who is big player and who isn't. Peace.

You summed it up nicely Danda. Saved me from having to write a lengthy reply. I have been using mobile phones for just on three decades now. In more recent times 'S' Series Samsungs. However Samsung drove me crazy with their constant notifications, updates and Samsung bloatware. It was time for a change! I went for a Mate 10 Pro and save $400 by not opting for the Mate 20 Pro which has the 'notch' and is not much different to the Mate 10 Pro to justify the price. Wow !!! So happy with the Mate 10 Pro... in fact I have never been so pleased with a new phone purchase. The Huawei just 'works' right out of the box...looks great...and something overlooked by many - the sound quality during calls is absolutely briliant. A big help for those of us older folk with some degree of hearing impairment.

A bit harsh on the review. Yes, it might not be as good as a Pixel 2 but is it not worthy?? If we only decide between a Pixel 2, IPhone X or Note then innovation will suffer.

Agreed, aside from reading the spec sheets on individual products, he has no real understanding of the smartphone industry as a whole and why companies do what they do.

Overall I think its a great phone,Huawei has done a good job.

Have you had any experience with the camera?? Do you actually know how good it is and not just from this shitty review. 3. Samsung also has a lot of bloatware 4. €800 isn't "about the same" as €950 so that's just bullshit 5. The Mate 10 Pro's huge battery will last much longer than the tiny note 8's

Hey marques i love you but this review is a bad one there is many features that you didnt talk about the phone has stereo speakers , you can switch to the app drawer in settings , you didnt mention the destop mode which doesnt need any stations like dex station in Samsung , you didnt mention that kirin 970 processor that in this phone is the first to include an AI chip also you can customise the bottons what ever you want and the camera rated by DXO mark 97 behind the pixel i am from egypt and i am not a big fan for Huawei but this phone is great really great and the phone here in our country for 6 months hope you to read my comment and in the future get better reviews

The name 'stereo speakers' is nice, but he talked about the fact that they don't sound impressive and can easily be muffled. Do you care more about a label like 'stereo speakers' or about how they actually sound? Same for the dxo mark. A rating is meaningless if the photos aren't actually good and he gave his personal opinion about the quality of the photos, making direct comparisons with the pixel. About the app drawer, he spent a good deal of time talking about the fact that you can customize it to your liking, so there you are just wrong. Finally, the AI chip sounds cool, but ultimately it's about what they do with it. He did talk about the intelligence in the camera, but what he rightfully notes is that it's unclear what the added benefit of the feature is. It's okay if you don't agree with his opinion, but that doesn't make it a bad review.

I have it too. I love it. I switched from S8+ and the Mate 10 is much faster, better battery and the camera is fantastic. The low light photos are the best of any phone I have tested. I usually love Marques reviews but this one was lazy. Watching this on my mate 10 pro in desktop mode. I travel a lot and this feature is the best for hotel TV's. Just USB-C to HDMI cable and the TV turns to a desktop computer. My Chromecast never works with hotel WiFi because of the login from a browser many hotel have. He missed a lot in this review..

Listen, i am a big fan for maques i followed for 2 or 3 years but this review not that good i know that the sound not good but he didnt even mention that it rocking stereo speaker and he didnt even mention the AI chip he can say that the phone has stereo speakers but its bad or can be muffled but somehow he didnt even say that the has stereo speaker same for the AI chip and if he spent alot of time to customise his phone he dont know that he can enable the app drawer i mean it make sense in my openion Huawei is less the Samsung and Apple and even other companys but this phone is great and this phone is first to come to the US so he didnt know that much about the phone and my openion about marques will not change that he is the best teck reviewer but this review is awful

There are plenty of features in EMUI which aren't mentioned. Like holding down the volume down button while the phone is locked and saying the name of a person actually calls that person, which I think is pretty dope.

So just for those that don't know, Huawei is a big Name player in the smartphone world. They are a top 5 smartphone maker in the world. MKBHD poses the question as to whether you should choose this phone over big names players like HTC, LG, etc...but Huawei is as big as both of those companies combined. Only Samsung and Apple have bigger shares than them (if you don't count Oppo/OnePlus/Vivo as one company BBK) Also this camera on this phone is absolutely amazing. I know that MKBHD doesn't care too much for DXO but this phone is the only other phone released that has a 100 on camera stills (the other is Note 8) and the video quality is pretty damn good as well. Overall if you had the money, you should 100% get the Pixel 2 XL. But this phone is as flagship as they come and should be in the conversation if not near the top of the android flagship conversation.

darpinian1 you are not updated. Huawei is 2nd largest phone brand and 2nd largest android phone brand. They surpassed apple last year. And why will we consider oppo vivo and op as one if they are doing business separately?? for example, maaza, thumbs-up are of Coca-Cola, but they do business separately, so we say then as separate brands which profit goes to Coca-Cola. They are not even sub brands, they are just owned by Coca-Cola. Same with oppo vivo and oplus. Huawei is Officially No 2 even without entering USA. And this year it's entering USA.

Dude, Huawei are one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world in fact they sell way more than Pixel. And to say that the camera isn't great because the Pixel 2 is better is just plain stupid, especially considering it has the second highest score on DXO..

Out of the box there isnt an app drawer but it is available in the settings without installing nova. He also mentioned the double tap volume to open camera and take a quick picture, but the picture taking can also be disable and have it just open the camera. Poor research on MKBHDs part.

Best phone of 2017!

EMUI skin can be very intrusive but it has lots of interesting features as well. Huawei phones just work, I know from experience and that skin is one of the most reliable and stable ones.

How could have people not heard about Huawei? I mean, I don't use their phones, but they have been around for years and now they're one of the biggest phone manufacturers.

The earpiece can function as a speaker as well when viewing a video in landscape mode. Bottom speaker punches more bass and the earpiece speaker for the highs.

Actually with the "pinch out" you can hide the app if you don't sue the drawer. And again, the power button works as a shortcut and you can customize it through settings to choose whatever you want to open pressing once, twice or longpressing it. I love your videos, Marques, buy it seems to me that you spent too much time in the hardware and specifications and you didn't even scratch the surface of the software

Using Nova Launcher and Accubattery, day and a half battery life, Oled screen is amazing for films, and supports HDR10. Only cons.. Its a fingerprint magnet while also being a slippery sod, I'm going to have to find a case before I break it accidentally

I'm kinda disappointed.. I know he doesn't like huawei but Damn.. It's like for everything that was good about the phone he had a snarky remark/complaint to make about the phone.. I know they could've made it a simple product and to some it might seem like they went overboard but look at their competitors.. Apple, Samsung, Google.. I'm impressed with the big step they took to in this phone

longlive theking I made that comment on another comment section but yeah. Nah I was kinda joking sort of, but some of his reviews, especially this one and the HTC U11 review, were lackluster. He didn't go over everything the phone was capable of (like the NPU on this phone and the Stereo speakers on the U11 and this phone, ESPECIALLY the U11), and it just makes me annoyed. If he went over everything and knew everything, I'd respect it because Huawei phones aren't for everybody, but because he acted like he just picked it up for the first time and starting using it, his review is basically incomplete and trash. He basically acted like the camera was magic and knew what he was capturing somehow, it's like he didn't know there was an NPU or anything at all. Edit: I could be wrong about him not mentioning the Stereo speakers on the U11, but if I remember correctly, he didn't say shit about them

Hunter Bowman very simple. No tax for exports in China n no tax for import in US.

You can change the home screen to have an app drawer if you search around in the settings. I'm using a mate 9 and it's essentially the same.

Jamie Lloyd I have the pixel 2 so I dont know where you made up half these issues. You clearly have never used a pixel before . I used to think Samsung phones were far better than the pixel 1 until I got the pixel 2. The software optimization and the phones snappiness just make this one of the best daily driver phones I have ever used.

carol zebra It just went on pre-order in the US. US carriers decided not to carry it too. It'll have to sell by word of mouth.

Still watching this on my Mate 10 Pro 4 years later and it has not disappointed me at all. yes, it did slow down a little but just a tad and it aint too bad to be honest. No regrets till this day!

Hmm, i like the iPhone x and the Samsung 9. But i kinda fall in love with the Huawei mate 10 pro. It's just a solid and good phone. And the battery life! Is awesome compered to the others.

A thinly veiled attempt at being unbiased; ended up looking pretty biased in the end. We all have our off days I suppose. Keep up the good work MKBHD, but this wasn't your best and I think you know it.

David Simpson Definitely wasn't one of his finer moments. I'm OK with reviewers being biased, which I think he sort of acknowledged. Don't let that cloud your judgment or miss things that are right there.

No mention of the first ever AI chip or the desk top mode without the need for a docking system.... Come on bro

You can change the double tap volume down camera feature to just open the camera.

It's funny that you said you'd stick with the big players of smartphone market when Huawei became the 2nd company on the market after Samsung.

Gábor Villányi As an American I almost want to personally apologize for that huge discrepancy. Huawei is simply not that well known in the US, so unfortunately a lot of Americans make misinformed comments like that. I just wouldn't expect him to be one of them. 🤔

For anyone curious, I still have this very specific phone. Huawei mate 10 pro, still very silky smooth in my opinion. Haptic may feel like its not as great as first day but you can adjust it to be more powerful, so there's that. I wouldn't recommend you to buy it anymore, since this is it's final year of support. It's more of a comment for future Huawei mobile users. It's a great phone. 3 years worth of software updates, quite surprised, battery still hasn't deteriorated that much, still can get me through a full day, just not one day with heavy use. Cameras are still great, just don't expect much at night time. So far, no problems arising yet, and see no reason to upgrade until later next year where they'll stop sending software updates. So for anyone who wants to get into Huawei products, my general recommendation, just go for it. The aggressive way the phone handles battery life was a killer choice for me. It was just great for me at the time, though it's showing its age. Changing the battery could fix that though. Just don't go for something extremely low end and blame me for it. Generally, their mid range to higher end products really deliver. As long as you're fine without any Google services, though you can get by that with rooting the phone.

It actually comes with an app drawer, you just have to toggle it in the settings.

This review feels rushed and incomplete. Also, saying that you'd stick with one of the more established players is a bit...biased. Huawei is one of the 3 largest handset manufacturers in the world...along with Apple and Samsung. I'm currently typing this comment on a Huawei Mate 10 Pro whcih I've been using since the end of 2017. I've also used the iPhone 8 Plus, Galaxy S8, S8+, Note 8, LG V30+ etc etc etc EMUI is not my favourite Android UI / skin but there are some great features. I'm sorry MKBHD, but for the first time, I'm not liking this review.

Watching this 2 days after the Mate 30 Pro came out!

I get very excited seeing you finally reviewing the Mate 10, but i ended up disappointed, you missed a lot of the feature of this phone and it felt like a rushed review just because you were asked to do it. You keep saying this vs the other big names, but do you realise how big Huawei is, i think it's second to Samsung in selling numbers
