Glad to hear you talk about this. I’ve had this problem for a while now and have just been aiming high to compensate. No matter what, right after my set hold the pin will start to settle a tad low. I adjusted my dl a .5 longer and BAM, no more problem ‼️.

Thanks again for a great video I have noticed when DL is too short I get jittery pin float and the front of my deltoid on my bow shoulder will bother me. When it's long, pin float gets big and floaty. I'll also feel like I'm pulling off anchor during shot execution. I've tried moving the D loop up and down on the string to avoid the "dip bang" or "dropping out the bottom" and it negatively affected the hold. It also changed the grip pressure. Experimenting with ONE thing at a time helps tremendously.

Is there an industry standard for measuring draw length? I measure 1 3/4" past or in front of the throat of the grip. I think both my inline and rx1 while set at 26.5" measured 27". This is not including d-loop.

How do you know if it’s a draw length issue or stabilizer setup? I had that bob, i took my stabilizer off and it went away. i put my front bar on as a back bar with no front bar and it got even better yet. this was on my indoor bowhunter setup. I agree with you. but i also think sometimes guys just throw weights on there bow without working into it or properly setting up front and rear bars.

I have not been shooting bow but about 1.5 years. Archery shops near me all want me set to 27". I have a span on 69". They calculate it and say maybe 27.5" I have never drawn the bow and set my nose on the string without reaching. I adjusted my Elite Enkore till my nose set on the string as mentioned. I now have my bow set to 29" draw. It feels comfortable but now need new arrows to test it out. Has anyone ever had or seen this big of difference? Am I doing something wrong? Nose button is easy to find and I will need to raise the peep. Doing the work myself as a learning process. Any thoughts are welcome.

Sorry but you are way too young to know the correct answers. There are two reasons for this. One is the bow is too HEAVY. Many cannot hold the weight of many of today’s bows up. The other problem is a bow arms that is too straight. It should be slightly bent and you should be pushing towards the center of the target. Draw length is draw length. Also, changing of ones D Loop can affect draw length. How you anchor. I have shot many different bows over the past 50 years, and my draw length has stayed the same no matter the bow brand. I have a bone on bone anchor with my release hand. Get rid of those kisser buttons and get a proper anchor. And don’t go with a bow that is too heavy for you to hold up. Stop listening to those who tell you to add more weight to gold still. Look at that persons arm and look are yours. Chances are, their arm is three times the size Of yours. Easy for them, but too heavy for you. Find a Bow that fits you weight wise. If that side bar is too Much, take it off. Those have not increased scores. It’s a gadget people think they need.

  • @InsideOutPrecision

Ask any pro about this issue if you don’t believe me. We add or subtract twists to the strings and cables to fine tune draw length down to an 1/8”. Of course you don’t want to shoot a bow that’s too heavy, but draw length plays a MUCH larger part in how your bow aims than the stabilizers do.

  • @InsideOutPrecision

I may only be 36, but I have been shooting for 25 years, won 4 national national titles, coached the Junior USA Archery team, and still shoot with some of the top pro’s in todays game. I’m not saying that to toot my own horn, but I also want you to know my advice comes from experience. A pin that drops can happen for people who shoot daily and are plenty strong to hold the bow up. If your alignment isn’t correct, you will always battle an unstable sight picture. A slight bend in the arm is totally normal and okay, but too much of a bend doesn’t allow the front shoulder to get into proper position, which will cause the smaller muscle groups to begin to fatigue more quickly than if they were being supported first by the skeletal structure. While many arms appear “straight” they are not locked out, there is a slight bend that allows the archer to keep forward pressure while aiming. And I don’t ever remember saying people should be using kisser buttons and I certainly have many videos on the importance of a solid anchor. But I don’t care how solid your anchor point is, if the draw length is correct you will always battle pin float. That being said, most people don’t shoot enough or care enough to see the benefit of tweaking draw length a tiny bit, but to those of use who shoot hundreds of arrows a week it can be a total game changer. I hate when people think they know more just because of how long they’ve been shooting a bow, and when they get beat by someone who has been doing my half as long as them it just proves my point.
