Adjust Your Compound Bow Draw Length!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I went to Downwind Archery and got the opportunity to work with Bud Robinson on my problems with my draw length. If you are ever in South Eastern Idaho, stop in and talk to Bud about any of your archery needs. Bud showed me just how easy it is to make the basic adjustments that are needed to adjust draw length on practically any bow on the market.

Great video, cool to see how in the other video it appeared the draw length was wrong, but it was actually more of an anchor correction. A lot of videos jump to the professional level immediately, so watching you grind through figuring it out one step at a time is cool.

A majority of people on youtube don't have a clue on how to set up or shoot archery nor guns, your draw length doesn't look too long. You did the right thing by getting checked out by a bow tech.

I’m not trying to tell you what to do ,but you need to wrap your index finger deep around you finger . If it was me I would lern to shoot a hinge right off the bat . A great first hinge would be the trueball sweet spot pro flex with a safety. You will thank me later.point is I wish I switched to a hinge or someone would have explained to me how the hinge works. Surprise release is the key to shooting good. And once you lern how to activate a hinge ,you can go to a thumb or index and activate it properly. Lots of videos out on how to activate them properly. Love your videos.

Open up your stance a little at a time to keep from hitting your arm ,your draw length looks pretty good maybe shorten it up a little more .play with it it tell it feels the best for you. Great video.

Good video! Ive been shooting for 20+ years and still find myself struggling with getting a perfect draw length and anchor sometimes, especially since I had to start wearing glasses. Even if you have been shooting for a while, its great to have someone help you and point out issues that you might not be able to "see" that they can.

@@DylanJustesen1 yes it's hard to find a good shop like that. My local shop is ok, but they won't go out of their way too much unless you have just bought a new bow or something. Good news is I'm in the market for a new one lol

He needs to shorten his release so he can hook the release and that will make his draw length feel shorter .but you can adjust with d loop to find tune the feel.

One thing I like to do is close my eyes and then anchor, open my eyes and see if my peep is off. I remembered to do this AFTER I had already setup my LIFT 33 and low and behold I discovered I was tucking into the peep and it was too low.

I have been closing my eyes this week while I have been practice to see how off my peep is and after a little bit of dialing it in, I think I have it all figured out! But my next video is going to be me working on my anchor points

Shorten that release a half inch so your hand anchors into your jawline. You're still punching the trigger with the fingertip pad and not curled around the trigger.

You’re punching that tigger! Not good. You’re not pulling through the shot with back muscles. Seriously, watch “ bow only outdoors “ on KZread. Look at his setup for using a trigger. Try it. Get a release you can shorten up so the finger hooks deeply over the trigger to the inside joint. You may need a longer d-loop? This setup will greatly improve your steadiness as you are using larger back muscles to pull. This inherently causes everything to get more steady. Trust me, this works. GOOD LUCK!

Punching the trigger has been one of my biggest issues! After we got done filming, Bud was like, “shorten your release!!” I have spend the past three days working on that trigger release as well as my new anchor point. I do appreciate you commenting. It helps me see where I am lacking and what I need to learn
