How We Made A Fractal Vise At Home

Ғылым және технология

We made Fractal Vise Jaws that can be attached onto any standard 6” vise. While we 3D printed plastic jaws which are only good for light processing applications, our concept can enable others to make these out of metal (via Metal 3D Printing) and utilize these for more heavy duty applications. All designs are my own and 100% original.

    Good idea, but I would have to justify building machines so I can use them thereafter. Can you think of a way to make it work?

  • @ru0ster

    @ru0ster

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@ActionBOX It might work with an assembly of parts that can be used with other projects. The cornmeal has to be extruded at speed through a die. The friction of the fast turning extruder will cause the moist cornmeal to steam. With the pressure forced through the die the cornmeal will puff. Check this for concept. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZYB-1tFqdJPPgNY.html

    I have sourced most parts (except for the extruder/hotend - following closely upcoming releases), milled the extrusions square, assembled the frame, set up klipper/fluidd, tested some accelerations and trinamic settings. Milling the plates will happen after summer vacations. Hopefully it will be moving in September, melting filament in October.

    How accurate do the tolerances of the metal parts need to be, for a fractal design like this to work reliably in the real world when made of metal? (for real work holding as in a milling machine etc) Would you not have issues with chips getting in and gumming up the works (to use the technical terminology)?
