It's not even that much damage to the opponent honestly. Other characters can do more for the same resources and take NO damage.

the pain and suffering is the bonus that comes with playing this character

@ANIMEILLUMINATI I find it hilarious that he got shit on in the normals department cause they decided to change 2M and f.h. Belial's best normals and he couldn't even have that. Killing yourself means speed running to the character select screen so that's a plus lmao

"there's nothing you can do" (in regards to using the flight and the opponent just chooses a reversal option-> super/DP/aerial) is the realest thing with this character. Tried him out, got some Sushi combos, took him online, immediately realized the 1-button reversal crowd and free-to-play gamers dunk on this character every time he takes to the air. It's actually quite frustrating to have a character that has a bunch of cool offensive pressure options and they are all mostly fake, specifically for offense/corner pressure. Can't even do the light version of flight and quickly stomp to reach the ground before a DP comes out. The play is to back off a little bit to get them to not reversal and then cheese em with his really good corner carry. confirm into EX rekka can take them from a full third of the screen into the corner for extension. This character is beans. I love him. I will be switching mains.

This is the exact reason I stopped using him. As soon as I hit past Bronze 5 everyone knew how to deal with him. It got especially annoying dealing with characters like Djeeta who can land 1 2L, deal 60%, build 80% SBA gauge, and take you from midscreen to corner. And flight basically was always a useless option cuz everyone has a crazy fast reversal, so any time I'd try to do wing setups, I was just waiting for the EX DP to ruin my day. It got so bad that 1: I switched back to Seox, a character I enjoyed labbing with but never took online, and 2: I just never did wings in the corner. The most I would do was Devil Beam from max range or a YOLO Command Grab once their DP was on cooldown.

Us Avatar players live for that pain. Is he good? Nah. But you're gonna hold this 60-70% combo on my mama.

I actually played Belial as a Main when he came out, but then dropped him in a heartbeat when Avatar Belial came out, Avatar Belial isn't my Main, but he's really my go to when i wanna oppress, bully and get shit done, i just don't get much pressure going with other Characters but i never have trouble with him, probably because of the Rekka, i just feel like i have options when i play him, and i just love a Glass Cannon sacrificing his HP in general.

He definitely has a lot of tools/options which is fun.

A helpful ABel tip i see a lot of high level players using is throwing out f.M buffered into H.projectile in neutral. On crouching hit can cancel into stomp for great corner carry and/or midscreen damage. On standing hit you get plus frames to start your pressure. On block you also get plus frames to start your pressure, and if i recall correctly the longer blockstun from H projectile jails into the stomp so you dont lose to reversal mashing. On hit i find this sequence more than worth the health cost, both crouching and standing. On block its a bit mid, but thats okay. You paid a bit of health to turn a f.M poke into your offensive pressure.

people are starting to use the first hit of light rekka a lot more now too. it combos off lights and on crouching hit is very easy to confirm into 8U. on standing hit you do the full rekka instead which I find is better than landing 236H on a standing opponent. it's for the corner carry in either case more than the damage and you don't spend your health until you need to. the downside to 236H is it can be spot dodged if you do it too much. still good but I try not to spam it. it does jail into stomp but it's a costly way to get in

I got Belial to 500 mostly playing Avatar (Probably 80% of my matches) and even now I can't stop playing him. Yeah it's rough sometimes and he doesn't have anything special or super cheesy going for him but I feel that's why I love playing him. It feels really good to get that W. Even though I'm killing myself to land these combos I'm always satisfied when I do. I get this guy to S+ I'm never touching ranked again XD

@@TheBigBaza Just hit S+ on Avatar with 2,370 games. Proud of myself and I don't think I'll be doing it on anyone else. You're not far behind so best of luck. If things are looking rough it's ok to stop. That's what I did after going from 1 set away from S+ promos down to S3. That break is what got me here now.

@@ANIMEILLUMINATI Right there with you on that. Playing this character you might as well put on a "Please rob me." sign on yourself because it's gonna happen and a lot more than you would like. I'm here for it though, I think it helped me learn and play better. Sometimes you just get unlucky though.

Lmao this is the validation I needed Ngl 😂 I consider him my secondary, even tho atp I used him like TWICE as much as my main (Lancelot) because for the life of me I couldn’t figure out anything really strong about him lmao. I’m still gonna stick with him during these hard times. But whatever buff they give him, it needs to be some kind of win condition. I feel like I’m ALWAYS on the back foot just hoping my opponent doesn’t know how to deal with what I’m doing lol

Man your Soriz guide made me finally click with the character, I've always loved him but I just couldn't get used to him but now? I'm destroying fools I really like Belial and Avatar Belial so hopefully this video is just as good at helping me

@@ANIMEILLUMINATI yeah I sent that comment before seeing the video I mean the video is great either way, he relies on mind games and the threat of the two hit instead of having several super good moves that allow you to build a clear path towards victory like Soriz I guess I'll just play Soriz and regular Belial for now Also today I checked the Nier cheap guide...I didn't want to use her before the nerfs but might as well try to reach easy lvl 300 while she is busted

Definitely a character for gamblers.

Btw you can mid screen combo FlyM with any version of fly. 2L will connect and you go from there. FlyM is hella plus but it can be guard canceled and spot dodged. Edit: yes this works in the corner too. Just extra easy damage

He can be the best robbing character or just die to a wake up grab/reversal. His flight can be easily counter with a long reaching air move and he is really bad against defensive player that know how to deal with his command grab, you have to bet and do alot of read pbut honestly he got beam from the eyes, 10/10 for me

The Vaseraga MU for him rly shows Abel's glaring weaknesses. In this MU u lose more HP during your combo than your oponent and a lot of ur mix can be countered by his armor or long reach

Looks like my comment got deleted, possibly because I linked a streamable link to help people. So I'll repost the info without the link. Another important combo midscreen which is reliable since it starts with RS>RC is c.L c.H 236H 214U. Its mostly juggles so you have to time it, but it can essentially go corner to corner with over 6k damage. Not saying Jiyuna deleted it, probably auto deleted. It doesnt matter either way. I just wanna help people who wanna try this honestly really fun character. Also his 2L is busted that shit is frame 5 and long as hell. Grants punishes on some situations other characters dream they could get

@@ANIMEILLUMINATI It picks up off the heavy rocks, so not only do you get a refund you get the max U damage and the benefit of the extra damage from classic inputting it. Its a crazy strong option

Every character has something that makes them stupid but then there’s this character who hurts him self for very little reward

Every time i pick Avatar belial my game glitches and picks nier. As for the next character, regular belial. He was my main in vanilla and doesnt feel like much has change but i wanna know where the cheap stuff is.
