Jiyuna guides are the best at selling me on a character. It always boils down to "this is cheap, do this" and then he just shows it and I'm like "huh, that seems fun" Beauty in simplicity.

It's unreal how much the simple addition of a DP and a bionic arm made Soriz a real character. And he's still like bottom 5 lol.

Probably low placement since he has some super polarizing matchups. Characters can still zone him really easily and just spot dodge the punch into punish if they know what they're doing. Otherwise he does fine and his low placement in tiers shouldn't turn you away from him. He's super cool.

@ANIMEILLUMINATI Probably not. Soriz himself is actually mostly fine imo. He's just gatekept super hard by the top-tiers. He'll probably be sitting around the middle of the pack after the top-tiers get their legs broken and 66L gets hit. Soriz has lots of ways to get + frames so that nerf will barely touch him while knocking everybody else down a peg.

I personally agree, he's definitely bottom 5 in my opinion, but still deadly and solid with his new tools. I honestly believe he is just a bit to honest for him to be anything higher than bottom 5. And that's coming from a Soriz main since he dropped in the original GBFV. Even despite his placement though, I'll never drop him and always main him!

I don't think he's bottom five. Especially since zoning is really bad in this game. The game favors rush down and neutral since it's always resetting due to lack of knockdowns

0:40 Enable input history and joystick display so newbies see how you press your buttons, it will help a lot

The symbol if anyone is wondering it is a buff for his install so he takes less damage so he gets more health and you can survive longer

The Power Dunk was the secret sauce I was missing, I was totally using it the wrong way. Also, I would really appreciate a more technical guide for Soriz later on. SOIYA, SOIYA, SOIYA!!!!!

Something I’ve been messing with but could be useful: End a corner combo with EX Upkick -> Activate SSBA -> Ultimate flurry punches for meaty unblockable. The only thing is you can’t combo and the damage isn’t great. It might be better to just go for command grab, but the unblockable is at least a lot cheaper meterwise.

I wasn't interested in Soriz before but after fighting Soriz recently and watching some youtube matches I gotta say: this character is hype! Definitely gonna try him.

Only if you don't cancel into them (not a problem for soriz lol) and not all of them, if it's a reversal it usually doesn't refund meter

I'm not a Soriz player but I respect people trying him and maining him!

Just hopped online with the gameplan of being plus and using bionic arm to cheat neutral and ended up going 75%, no combos really just pure offense and it kinda was saucy. Though I toyed with the armor/parry a lot more because it’s fun and lord have mercy it saved me a lot in the niece matchup

You don't always have 50 meter to do a DP, so having a "Mr. Steal-Yo-Turn" move can be very beneficial, although pulling it off does require some knowledge (blockstring gaps etc). Or you just YOLO and try doing reads. Either works. To be fair though, you did the right thing by not talking about it. A lot of newbies would've suffered from relying on this too much.

Unfortunately that’s just a skill that comes with experience. People are more likely to DP when they have life to spare though.

Only if you are close. 2L works anywhere. If you are good, you can confirm when to do 5M and when to do 2L, but for a beginner just doing 2L is best.

i started Soriz yesterday. i won about 70 percent of my fights its ridiculous. He's so simple and fun. I actually use his S cuzz it leads to one of the easiest turn stealing reversals ever. I thought i was playing him wrong with how short and simple his combos are but... no just build them on the fly and keep beating the piss out of opponents.

Maybe thats just the strat. Imo rising doesnt feel like an actual anime fighter aka roman cancels, insta airdashes, true blockstrings that make u question ur life decisions. I keep trying to big brain this game and should just start pressing more cuz plus frames are plus frames whether how little or big they are. And armor full screen is very nice against the glue eating viras or zoners.
