I love my new machine.

Just got my LM3 LE and just started playing around with it. What is the difference between scan, dotmatrix and vector mode? When should you use one vs the other? Same with Laser mode? What is the difference between Static and Dynamic and when to choose one vs the other? And in engraving direction... I understand horizontal and vertical... but what is oblique used for? And lastly, if I'm using the rotary tool, is there a place to tell it the circumference of the object or something special I need to click to make sure it knows what to do?

@@orturnet Thanks, I did find that manual already. Unfortunately, it doesn't explain the things I specifically asked for. It shows the options, but doesn't say what they do. I did figure out how to setup the rotary tool though in Laser Explorer. But, would be great to understand the other things.

I really want to purchase the laser master 3 for my wood shop. I'm a beginner in woodworking and would love to have one for personilation. I don't have a computer but I do have a tablet. So when using the app can you engrave whatever you want or are you limited to what pictures you have on your phone. What I'm asking is that if I have a cutting board that the customer wants their last name initial with a design around it can I do that off of the app with my tablet or do I have to have a computer to go to that extent? I really hope to purchase a laser after the first of the year as long as I can afford it. Thank you for any information.

In all honesty, I do love my Laser Master 3 but there's extremely little information out there and even fewer demonstrations and explanations IE this video is released by ORTUR but what exactly is L/mm and what's the specific function and purpose of this? I wouldn't recommend this for beginners even though it's priced for beginners. There are other engravers out there with a lot more demonstrations and better support and have much better app support. I, unfortunately, am spending too much time and money on learning this machine, the app, and having to constantly use peices to test to get the perfect engraving. The worst ones are when I need to etch onto drinking glasses etc etc as there's a certain process to the etching which includes using a cold galvanizing compound but why should I have to ruin a perfectly good glass to run a bunch of tests to get the picture right? The images also don't engrave proportionate to the original image. It's going to look either stretched or smashed and you will need to constantly adjust the XY parameters to get the image to look proportionate on the peice you're engraving on but the picture that's on the grid will look either stretched or smashed so it's just a guessing game. I've been messing with the app and I'm getting nowhere to this issue. The app, Laser Explorer is free and it's for this machine and it has a 1 star rating. However, I did purchase LightBurn which works with this machine for $120 but it's 100% not for beginners and I gave up on it as the images kept being printed backwards and could not find ANY info on how to flip the image with this machine. Lack of support. I think the company needs to work a bit harder on putting more content out there on social media and searches with video demonstrations or sell the company to someone who can do this for their customers.

How can you use the yrr rotary module on the app?
